Yoshihiko Yamashita (山下義彦) was a man who, after dying in a car accident, was transformed into a Hollow by Bansui Amatsuki.[1]
Appearance[]
As a hollow, Yoshihiko is small and stocky. His body is yellow and brown and his hollow mask has two big horns, one on each side.[1]
Plot[]
Three years before the events of the game, when he was human, Yoshihiko died on a road accident after receiving his new born daughter ring that he made in hopes of his daughter growth. After the accident, despite being on the verge of death, he was desperately looking for his daughter ring in his luggage, but he ran out of strength and didn’t find it. after his death he was tricked by Bansui and turns into a Hollow.[1]
At the beginning of the game he destroyed Uryū Ishida's house and steals an important book inside it. Uryu tries to kill him but he manages to escape.[1]
Later Ichigo Kurosaki, Uryu, Sado and Orihime find him in front of the place where the accident happened three years ago. While Uryu wants to kill him he shout "Mayu" referring to his daughter. Hearing that Inoue stops Uryu from shooting as Yoshihiko is acting strange. Ichigo explains that he seems to be desperately looking for something which is why he stayed as a Hollow and that they'd better help him instead of killing him. But at that moment a dragon-looking Hollow grabs him and escape with him through a portal in the sky.[1]
Yorihoko Yamashita's equipment
The third time they meet him again, he starts attacking them. He is stronger this time because he is wearing an equipment around his arm. Despite that he is almost beaten but manages to escape thanks to the dragon-like hollow grabbing him again.[1]
Later, Kon stole a stone part of Bansui Amatsuki equipment that fell when Ichogo attacked him. After analysis they suspect this stone being created from ancient Quincy knowledge. Rukia, Ichigo, Sado, Uryu and Orihime then notice a book is missing in the Uryu's house library. They understand that Yamashita probably stole it and begin to investigate about this hollow. Remembering his weird behavior around the accident scene they gather information about this accident.[1]
They meet Yoshihiko's wife Tae Yamashita and his daughter Mayu Yamashita. Tae told them the whole story and they notice that Mayu is wearing the ring Yoshihiko was probably still looking for when wandering around the accident scene.[1]
After travelling to the Hueco Mundo, they find Yoshihiko again, being the security force captain under Bansui orders. They try to make him regain his humanity talking about his wife and daughter. It almost worked but it’s not enough, so Orihime decides to come back to the human world and meet Tae and Mayu Yamashita so Ichigo can show them to Yoshihiko using the Senritama. Seeing his wife and his daughter wearing the baby ring, Yoshihiko regain his memory and humanity. He doesn't have the book anymore but he gives them a copy of it he handwrote himself. Right after that Bansui Amatsuki arrives, alerted by another Hollow, and kills Yoshihiko.[1]
