Tier Harribel (ティア・ハリベル, Tia Hariberu; Viz "Tier Halibel") is an Arrancar and the former Tres (3rd) Espada in Sōsuke Aizen's army until Aizen's defeat by Ichigo Kurosaki, representing the form of death of Sacrifice (犠牲, Gisei).[4] After Aizen's fall, she assumed control of Hueco Mundo, becoming its de facto ruler.[2][3] However, she was later defeated by Yhwach and imprisoned in Silbern, leaving Hueco Mundo to be overtaken by the Wandenreich.[5]

Harribel is a tall female Arrancar of curvaceous and well-endowed frame. She has olive skin, aqua green eyes, thick eyelashes, and short golden blonde hair; which she usually keeps messy with three braided locks. She wears a variation of the Arrancar jacket with a high collar, which covers the lower part of her face downward, while baring a good portion of the lower half of her large breasts. The jacket has a zipper running along its entire length, which is opened from the bottom upwards. It has a beige air filter on either side just below the trim. The jacket's sleeves completely envelop her arms, terminating in black glove-like extensions at her extremities, resembling the appearance of a cat's paw.[6][7]
The remnants of her Hollow mask consist of the sides of her face, her mouth, and an extensive area below and around her neck extending down to, and also covering, her nipples. She usually hides these remnants from view with her jacket. Her Espada tattoo is placed on the left side of her right breast. The location of her Hollow hole is in her lower abdomen where her womb would be.[8] Her appearance before she became an Arrancar mostly resembled her current state, but most of her body and face was covered by white Hollow bones, and her weapon was part of her arm, but her hair and eyes were exposed. Her mask wrapped around her head, with an extremely long and thin shark tail hanging from the back of her head. There were also pointed protrusions from her shoulders and elbows, as well as distinct grooves on her legs.[9]
Personality[]
Harribel is a calm and composed individual, known for her quiet demeanor and level-headed nature. She tends to watch situations from the sidelines, observing the intense fight between Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez[10] and allowing her Fracción, the Tres Bestias, and their subordinate Hollow Ayon to engage in their battle against Rangiku Matsumoto and Momo Hinamori.[11] Harribel doesn’t hesitate to challenge disrespectful behavior, like when she warns Baraggan Louisenbairn to be careful about how he speaks of Sōsuke Aizen.[12] Her attentiveness is clear when she quietly listens to the exchanges between her fellow Espada and Aizen, as she tells Nnoitra Gilga not to take Aizen’s words lightly after he dismisses Aizen's warning of the threat posed by Ichigo, Uryū Ishida, and Yasutora Sado during their intrusion of Las Noches to rescue Orihime Inoue.[13]
In battle, Harribel displays an analytical side, noting how Tōshirō Hitsugaya's ability to use her water against her means that she could also do the same to him.[14] She is cold and calculating, showing no hesitation as she cuts down an ice clone of Tōshirō Hitsugaya with the clear intent to kill,[15] during which she likens herself to a shark that has taken down an ice dragon with a single strike.[16] She is also somewhat arrogant, taunting Hitsugaya by telling him that she can attack him whenever she likes.[17] Harribel displays confidence and pride in her strength, telling Hitsugaya that he is underestimating her[18] and that she hasn't shown him her true power, even unzipping her jacket to reveal her Espada tattoo to indicate that she is the Tres (third strongest) Espada.[19] She is also not above belittling others when they come across as weak, as shown when she questioned Hitsugaya's strength after making him crash into a building and wondered how Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun could have lost to the Gotei 13's captains.[20] She is still, however, capable of acknowledging someone's power, describing Ichigo while Hollowfied as an Espada-level human.[21]
Despite her ruthlessness in combat, Harribel has a softer side to her. She cares deeply for those close to her, especially her Fracción, with whom she shares a strong bond with. She encourages them to embrace their fear[22] and praises their efforts against Rangiku and Momo.[23] Her loyalty to them goes so far that she seeks revenge on Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto for defeating them.[24] After being defeated by Yhwach, she even tells Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, Dondochakka Birstanne, and Pesche Guatiche to escape.[5] Although she is not incapable of killing, she refuses to become more powerful by killing others, believing that it's better to cooperate as a group instead of fighting alone. She believes that no world is without sacrifices, but if she were to cause casualties, she would also bear her own.[25] While she does have a sense of morality, Harribel also has a vengeful streak. She threatens Yamamoto for taking down her Fracción[23] and later goes after Aizen when he betrays her,[26] showing that she’s not afraid to strike back when someone crosses her.
History[]
Fake Karakura Town arc (anime only)[]

Before becoming an Arrancar, Harribel was a humanoid, shark-like Vasto Lorde-class Menos Grande. Some time ago, she saved a female Adjuchas-class Hollow, Emilou Apacci, from a male Adjuchas. After rescuing her, Harribel brought Apacci back to her lair and introduced her to two other female Adjuchas, Cyan Sung-Sun and Franceska Mila Rose, as new comrades. When a minor altercation broke out between the three, Harribel intervened, explaining that female Hollows tend to be easy prey for males. She had brought Apacci and the others together because she believed they would be stronger as a group than if they were to work alone. Later, after fighting a Hollow, Harribel allowed him to escape. When the group decided to rest, Apacci questioned why they had let him go instead of devouring him. Harribel explained the law of Las Noches and, when asked why she didn't follow it, she revealed that she did not want to become stronger by devouring and sacrificing others. She believed that if she could not win alone, she would win as part of a team. Eventually, Harribel and her group encountered the king of Hueco Mundo, Baraggan Louisenbairn, and his court. The two revealed they had a history with each other. Baraggan, growing tired of her rebellious attitude, gave Harribel a choice: either join his army or retreat to an area of Hueco Mundo where he could not see her, warning her that there was no place in Las Noches beyond his reach. When one of his servants attempted to intervene, Harribel slashed him, prompting Baraggan to scold her for her boldness. He then informed her that she was free to leave without harm, should she choose to.[27]

Later, the group is ambushed in their lair by the Hammerhead Arrancar. Harribel recognizes him as the Hollow she had confronted during her battle with Baraggan and his court, and she attempts to fend him off. However, his Reiatsu proves far stronger than that of a Vasto Lorde-class Hollow like Harribel, and he quickly gains the upper hand. Determined not to give up, Harribel orders her subordinates to flee. Though they hesitate at first, they soon return, resolute to fight and die for her. After defeating the Adjuchas Hollows, the attacker overwhelms Harribel, declaring his intent to kill her and rise through the ranks of Hueco Mundo. Their confrontation is interrupted by the arrival of Sōsuke Aizen, who effortlessly blocks the attack. He remarks that such power is only natural for an Arrancar, before dispatching the assailant. Aizen then turns to Harribel, explaining that while he granted the attacker Arrancar powers, he failed to give him a brain to control them. Reflecting on the nature of sacrifice, Aizen offers Harribel the opportunity to join him, promising that under his leadership, she could gain the strength necessary to protect her subordinates.[27]

Harribel witnesses the return of Ulquiorra Cifer and Yammy Llargo following their initial invasion of the Human World.[28] Later, she watches as Sōsuke Aizen uses the Hōgyoku to transform Wonderweiss Margela from an ordinary Hollow into an Arrancar.[29]
Hueco Mundo arc[]
Harribel attends Aizen's meeting regarding Ichigo Kurosaki, Yasutora Sado, and Uryū Ishida entering Hueco Mundo to rescue Orihime Inoue.[30] After Aizen warns the Espada to treat the intruders with caution, Nnoitra Gilga states they look weak, prompting Harribel to tell him if he had listened to what Aizen just said, he would have heard him state they should not take the intruders lightly. Saying this is not what he meant, Nnoitra, telling her not to get testy, asks her if she is scared.[31] As Harribel gives him a cold stare, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez interrupts the brewing confrontation by attempting to walk out without Aizen's permission. Along with the other Espada, she sits silently while Aizen subdues Grimmjow with his Reiatsu to keep him in line.[32]
After Aaroniero Arruruerie is killed, she observes the atmosphere of Hueco Mundo as Emilou Apacci asks her what they should do about his death.[33]

During Ichigo's fight with Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, she and her Fracción, the Tres Bestias, watching from afar, talk about the battle. When her Fracción begin to question what is going on in the battle, Harribel tells them not to worry about it. She says it is understandable for them to be frightened, for they are witnessing the battle of an Espada in his Resurrección form, and this is their primordial fear, which they should relish. Wondering whether the opponent Grimmjow is fighting is truly a human, as she cannot imagine the volume, intensity, and sinister quality of his Reiatsu belonging to one, Harribel comments that the battle seems more like a confrontation between two Espadas.[21]
Fake Karakura Town arc[]

Along with her Fracción, the two other strongest Espada, Coyote Starrk and Baraggan Louisenbairn, and their Fracción, Harribel is summoned by Aizen to the fake Karakura Town to engage in battle with the Gotei 13, emerging from a Descorrer portal.[34] When Captain-Commander Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto unleashes his Zanpakutō's Shikai, Ryūjin Jakka, and uses Jōkaku Enjō to trap Aizen, Gin Ichimaru, and Kaname Tōsen,[35] Baraggan Louisenbairn notes this. When Harribel warns him to be cautious about how he speaks of Aizen, Baraggan retorts, warning her to be careful with how she speaks to him.[12] As Baraggan decides to take control of the situation himself, Harribel and the others stand around and watch.[36] After the pillars maintaining the real Karakura Town in Soul Society are successfully defended, Harribel begins her battle against Captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya.[37] Drawing her sword, Harribel clashes with Hitsugaya.[38] As they battle, she tells Hitsugaya she felt a disturbance in his Reiatsu, which occurred when Momo Hinamori arrived, prompting him to tell her he has no idea what she is talking about.[39]

When Ayon, Emilou Apacci, Franceska Mila Rose, and Cyan Sung-Sun are all defeated by Yamamoto,[40] Harribel commends them for having fought well and unzips her jacket, revealing her rank as the Tres Espada. When Hitsugaya finds it difficult to believe she is only the third strongest Espada, Harribel, twlling him that she does not recall showing him her full power, unzips the rest of her jacket to reveal her mask remnants. In response, Hitsugaya activates his Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru as Harribel charges at him with an Ola Azul, forcing him to block.[41] When Hitsugaya crashes into a building below, Harribel, questioning if this is a captain's strength and wondering how Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun could have lost, activates her Zanpakutō's Resurrección, Tiburón. As Hitsugaya looks on, he notes that there's less physical change in Harribel than he expected, but still remains cautios, knowing that underestimation can be fatal. Using Trident, Harribel raises her sword and slashes Hitsugaya clean in half, seemingly delivering a mortal blow. Believing her enemy defeated, Harribel compares herself to a shark that has taken down an ice dragon with a single strike.[42]
Seeing Yamamoto on the side of battle, she threatens to exact her revenge against him for taking the lives of her subordinates. Suddenly, Hitsugaya appears and strikes, but Harribel narrowly dodges the attack and manages to parry it. Wondering how her opponent survived unharmed, Harribel is informed by Hitsugaya that he didn't anticipate her speed and attack range increasing so quickly after her release. He reveals that, as a precaution, he created an ice illusion of himself once she released her power, and it was the ice clone that she had struck down. Knowing he could only use a trick like that once and had been saving it for when it was absolutely necessary, Hitsugaya warns Harribel not to underestimate their strength.[43] As their fight ensues, Harribel reveals her ability to control water. Countering each other, she and Hitsugaya display their ability to manipulate each other's attacks. Hitsugaya warns Harribel not to underestimate him, explaining that his Zanpakutō being a cryo-type makes all water a weapon for him, including the water she wields. This means she will never be able to reach him as long as she relies on controlling water. Harribel, undeterred, asserts that she can strike whenever she chooses and offers to show him if he doubts her. Hitsugaya asks if she really thinks he'd fall for that and let her get within striking distance. He then reiterates that this is exactly what he meant by not taking him lightly. As he sends an ice dragon toward her, Harribel remains unfazed and tells him that he is the one taking her lightly, casually evaporating the ice dragon with Hirviendo. She comments that if her water can become his weapon, he should realize the reverse is true as well—a cardinal rule of battle. With that, she unleashes a Cascada on Hitsugaya.[14]

Hitsugaya, freezing the attack before it hits him, lets Harribel know that he is well aware that being able to use an enemy's weapon against him means the opposite is also true, commenting that he does not need her to lecture him. He uses Gunchō Tsurara to launch a barrage of icicle daggers at Harribel, who claims that the technique being different will not change the result before using Hirviendo once more. However, her attack is instantly frozen, and she is subsequently encased in ice by Hitsugaya. Quickly breaking free, she is advised by Hitsugaya in return for her earlier lecture to save her best tactics for the moments of greatest crisis, another cardinal rule of battle.[44] Harribel launches several La Gota projectiles at Hitsugaya, which he easily dodges. She follows this by firing a Cero at Hitsugaya which he only narrowly avoids, with some of his ice being damaged in the process. Hitsugaya comments that Harribel fights so strangely, though he doesn't blame her, knowing that they are both waiting for the battlefield to fill with moisture to deliver the final blow. When Hitsugaya states he has never used this technique in Bankai, Harribel asks what he is talking about. He explains that he doesn't need to wait for water and that his Hyōrinmaru is the ultimate cryo-type Zanpakutō. Reaffirming that all water is his weapon and remarking that the entire sky is under his control, Hitsugaya uses Hyōten Hyakkasō.[45] Staring up at the sky in amazement as it becomes filled with dark storm clouds, Harribel asks what this is. Hitsugaya explains that Tensō Jūrin, one of Hyōrinmaru's basic abilities, is also its greatest, and that he didn't want to use its Bankai state due to being unsure if he could handle it properly with his unrefined powers. Noticing that the ice flowers behind him falling made his concerns unfounded, Hitsugaya asks for Harribel's name. She introduces herself as Espada Tres, and Hitsugaya introduces himself in turn as the captain of Tenth Division. Asking her if she is ready, Hitsugaya open a hole in the sky with Hyōten Hyakkasō, much to Harribel's surprise. She tries to use Hirviendo once more, but her attack is interrupted by a snowflake which falls on her blade, causing it and her body to freeze. As an alarmed Harribel asks what this is, Hitsugaya explains that anything Hyōten Hyakkasō's snow touches instantly freezes into the shape of a flower, and that once all the hundred ice flowers blossom, Harribel's life will disappear. As Harribel is encased in a gigantic ice flower obelisk, Hitsugaya apologizes to her for not being able to avenge her subordinates' deaths.[46]

When Wonderweiss arrives, he lets out a high-pitched scream, which shatters the ice trapping Harribel. Rising from the ice obelisk without any noticeable sign of injury, Harribel stares coldly at the shocked Hitsugaya.[47] As Hitsugaya contemplates the words of Sajin Komamura about fighting alongside the newly-arrived Visored, Harribel moves to attack him, though she is interrupted by the Hollowfied Lisa Yadōmaru and Hiyori Sarugaki.[48] As Harribel clashes with Lisa, she tells Lisa that she though that she would fight them all at once, prompting Lisa to tell her that she thought the same thing.[49] Harribel then proceeds to engage all three of them in battle,[50] with the latter two releasing their respective Zanpakutō, Haguro Tonbo and Kubikiri Orochi.[51]

After Coyote Starrk's death, Harribel continues to fight. Noticing their fight, Aizen, quickly appearing behind Harribel, slashes her across the chest. As she expresses shock, Aizen states that she and the other Espadas have served their purpose and that they weren't worthy of fighting under him.[52] When Aizen states he never thought he would be more powerful than all of the Espadas after all the trouble he went through to assemble them, an enraged Harribel retaliates by stabbing him through the chest with her sword. As Aizen states dealing with her is such a pain, she is stabbed from behind by the real Aizen, who had used Kanzen Saimin to make her attack an illusion of himself. Telling Harribel not to make him swing his sword twice at somebody like her, Aizen withdraws his sword, sending Harribel plummeting into the city below.[53]
The Thousand-Year Blood War arc[]

After Aizen's defeat and the deaths of Baraggan and Starrk, Harribel became the de facto ruler of Hueco Mundo.[2][3] However, when the Wandenreich invaded and began capturing Arrancars to use in battle, she fought and lost against their leader, Yhwach. Badly wounded, she urged Nel Tu, Pesche Guatiche, and Dondochakka Birstanne to flee, before being taken by Yhwach in a flash of darkness and imprisoned in Silbern.[5] At one point, Yhwach visited the captive Harribel, having proclaimed Hueco Mundo as his domain and nothing more than another foundation stone to invade Soul Society.[54][3]
Powers & Abilities[]
Master Swordsman: Harribel possesses tremendous skill in swordsmanship, able to strike with considerable power while leaving little room for enemy counters. Harribel is ambidextrous, able to switch between either hand mid-clash to leave even less time for her opponents to react.[55] Her skills allow her to fight on even grounds with Tōshirō Hitsugaya, a captain-level Shinigami and a famous swordsmanship prodigy,[39] and even defend herself against him with the aid of Lisa Yadōmaru and Hiyori Sarugaki, two lieutenant-level Visored who were Hollowfied, simultaneously.[56]
Harribel's spiritual power.
Immense Spiritual Power: Even before becoming an Arrancar, as a Vasto Lorde-class Hollow, Harribel possessed tremendous Reiryoku.[27] As an Arrancar and one of the top four members of the Espada, Harribel is forbidden to release her Zanpakutō while inside the dome of Las Noches, for if she were to do so, her immense Reiryoku would be enough to demolish the fortress.[57] Her Reiatsu is golden-yellow.[58]
Keen Intellect: While a woman of few words, Harribel has proven to be an intuitive fighter. She can see through a person's demeanor to determine what they are thinking about. During the battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, she noted how the two were similar, especially in terms of Reiatsu.[59] Her keen intellect and intuition is proven in her initial fight with Hitsugaya, where she saw through his icy demeanor and identified his concern for his lieutenant. She sensed a small wavering in Hitsugaya's Reiatsu when the arrival of Momo Hinamori concerned him.[60] Harribel held her own in a fight against Hitsugaya, who used his abilities to counter her own, by taking advantage of his attacks for her own purposes.[61]

波蒼砲 , Ōra Azūru; Spanish for "Blue Wave", Japanese for "Wave Blue Gun"): Pulling her sword back as it gathers yellow Reiryoku within the hollow portion of the blade, Harribel launches it towards her opponent in the form of an energy blade projectile.[69] She can keep the energy concentrated within the hollow portion of the blade, and unleash it in the shape of a ribbon when attacking.[70]

- Resurrección: Its release command is "Destroy" (討て, Ute; Viz "Hunt"). Holding her Zanpakutō in front of her with the blade pointing down, Harribel, declaring the release command, is completely enveloped by a heart-shaped surge of water which closes around her to form a cocoon-like cyclone, which Harribel cuts herself out of. In this form, her clothes and Espada tattoo are gone. Her mask remnants become a collar, with extensions covering her nipples. She gains spaulders on her shoulders, which bear a resemblance to shark fins, and two ribbon-like protrusions on her back. A thin, spine-like structure forms on her stomach, spanning from her waist to the underside of her breasts.[71] Harribel wears a mini-skirt consisting of bones surrounding a dark undergarment. She wears a pair of knee-length boots and elbow-length gloves. Her weapon takes the form of a broad pata, which resembles an elongated shark tooth, featuring an unusual hilt with a hand guard which completely covers her hand. The sword possesses gill markings along either side of the blade. Harribel loses her three braids, causing her hair to become messy, and gains two blue lightning bolt markings on both sides of her face.[72][73]

Harribel's unique form in Bleach: Brave Souls.
- A unique form for Harribel appears in Bleach: Brave Souls to commemorate the inclusion of the Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World light novel. Designed by Tite Kubo, this appearance mirrors Ulquiorra Cifer's own Hōgyoku-enhanced power, transcending Resurrección.[82] In this form, Harribel remains unmasked as in her normal Resurrección, and the lightning bolt-shaped marks on her face gain an extra jagged section while moving closer to her eyes, which glow bright blue. Her hair turns completely white, with several long braids reaching to her knees at the back and two bangs framing her face. Harribel gains two black-and-white, jagged, rock-like, long and roughly triangular ornaments on her head, one on either side, angled toward each other, with an additional section on each extending outward from her head, resembling ears. Harribel loses most of her Resurrección armor and clothing, with her breasts and neck being covered by long strips of yellow Reiatsu, and her new armor is asymmetrical in appearance. Her left arm gains a black and gray gauntlet reaching from her wrist to her elbow, with the underside tapering off to the top of her arm in a slanted progression and with an additional small section on her tricep. It bears a medium-size gray and white, rock-like bracer resembling a crashing wave on her forearm, and her left hand's fingernails are also visibly longer. Conversely, her right arm is fully armored in the same black-gray material, with a large pauldron on her shoulder consisting of black, gray, and white rock-like material extending the full length of her arm which also resembles a crashing wave whose points reach the middle of Harribel's head. Her hand disappears into her new sword, which resembles the shape of her standard Resurrección blade but is composed of yellow Reiatsu concentrated around a large, gray hilt floating around Harribel's wrist and three thick white arrows extending outward to form the body of the sword. Her upper back gains a gray, shark-like fin whose base wraps around to the underside of her arms on her chest, and a small inverted black-and-gray triangle lies underneath her breasts, with two curving black markings pointing toward it on either side of her abdomen. Her waist has three long and wide white-gray strips of fabric hanging off either side and her back, with a dorsal fin-like segment on her lower back keeping them attached. The strip of fabric on her back has a large flare of yellow Reiatsu on the end, giving it the appearance of a shark's tail. Harribel's left leg is fully armored in black-and-gray material. Her thigh bears three markings glowing with yellow Reiatsu that resemble the slats in her normal Resurrección sword. There are two dark gray bangles circling the base of her leg at the hip, her kneecap is adorned with a white-gray pauldron resembling the one on her left arm, and her calf bears a small gray wing with a curving membrane stretched between four limbs. Her right leg is less armored, with the gray-black material covering its length leaving the front of her thigh exposed, and has a single bangle circling the base at the hip, while another pauldron identical to the one on her left kneecap adorns her right. Her feet have gray-black material covering the top and tapering to a point around the middle of their length, but are otherwise bare, and have lengthened and sharpened nails. The Hōgyoku is bathed in yellow Reiatsu and floats in Harribel's widened Hollow hole at her pelvis, where her womb would be. In this form, Harribel is a melee strong attack character with the "Technique" Attribute and the "Arrancar Killer" ability whose second Strong Attack is a combined barrier and boost move. Her unlockable skills are "Berserker +40%, "Bruiser +40%", "Devastation +60%", "Enhancer +10 secs.", "Freeze Duration -100%", "Frenzy", "Havoc +20%", and "Sprinter +1", while her Soul Trait is "Strong Attack Recharge Time -12%". Fake Karakura Town arc (Bleach: Official Character Book 3 UNMASKED)[]
When Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi switched the real Karakura Town back to the Human World and brought the fake Karakura Town to Soul Society, the Arrancars who had passed out with deep wounds were also transferred to Soul Society. Having come from Hueco Mundo to Soul Society through a Garganta with Rukia Kuchiki to meet up with Ichigo Kurosaki after he finished his battle against Sōsuke Aizen, Orihime Inoue was led by Emilou Apacci and began healing their wounds using Sōten Kisshun. On Harribel's body, there were two deep wounds; one was a deep, straight cut, which went straight through the side of her chest, made by Aizen's Zanpakutō, Kyōka Suigetsu, and the other cut went from her back to her womb. These wounds could have been fatal, and no one besides Orihime possessed the ability to save the fallen Espada. After returning to Hueco Mundo via the Garganta, Harribel and her Fracción, the Tres Bestias, looked upon the destruction resulting from the various battles which took place.[83]
The Arrancars were greeted by the Hollow dog Kukkapūro, whom they recognized as Yammy Llargo's companion. Feeling what was left of Yammy's Reiatsu, Harribel and the others determined the powerful Espada fought with all his might before dying. They realized the Adjuchas Hollows had detected their presence and would arrive shortly, for they were now able to approach Las Noches due to the absence of the powerful Espada. All four understood that it wouldn’t be long before the inevitable cycle of conflict, so common among the Hollows of Hueco Mundo, would begin anew. Harribel became distressed at this realization, as preventing it was her motivation for joining Aizen, but now it would return, and she could not stop it from happening. Cyan Sung-Sun suggested that with Baraggan Louisenbairn dead and Aizen gone, Harribel should rule Hueco Mundo in their place. Franceska Mila Rose and Emilou Apacci agreed that it would be the best course of action, but Harribel disagreed, stating a fake Sun could not bring light to the darkness of Hueco Mundo, and all which is truly needed is the silent darkness. Harribel began to make her way toward Las Noches, with her loyal Fracción following behind.[84]

Due to censorship, Harribel's design in the original anime was modified slightly between the anime and manga. In the anime, Harribel's outfit is extended to fully cover her breasts, and her pants reveal less of her thighs, but when she attended the creation of Wonderweiss Margela, the underside of her breasts is visible. This implies that the decision to change to her outfit was made later on during the anime's production. During the revealing of her Espada rank tattoo in the anime, the remnants of Harribel's Hollow mask are extended to cover the underside of her breasts. The black stripe on the jacket clearly marks the original bottom hem and the point where her mask fragments once ended, highlighting a noticeable difference. In her released form, her nipple coverings are extended to cover the undersides of her breasts, and extend around back like a bra. Her skirt is extended, with triangular points at the end, and the area of darkness underneath is expanded.[85][86][87][88]
