I have to say, just what do you expect him to do? Pull a move out of his @ss? If memory serves me right, for shinigamis to learn new moves, they have to get their zanpakutou to teach them. Now, just how do you expect Ichigo to do that if he's been using his Quincy powers for pretty much the last 650+ chapters, who, by the way, never wanted him to fight? And just about 3 chapters ago he finally revealed his true zanpakutou?
If we want to talk about his hollow powers, can't really expect him to pull out a cero until now because he was set up so his Quincy side holds back the hollow powers until he's in grave danger. But, when he's in grave danger, at least we can see him firing a cero (think battle against Espada #4, not going to spell his name because I'm going to butcher it) at least that counts for something? And he can use high speed regeneration in hollow state, that's still technically a skill, just none of them was something he did consciously. Oh, and what about when he did Final Getsuga Tenshou, don't you have to admit that's technically something new?
I think we should've just focused on how many times he's transformed into something different... that'll give us something new. Someone on the manga site I peruse counted 13... I'm going to assume there's 2 more after that to go with that pun on his name.
I get what you're saying, I'm tired of the same move over and over again when he's conscious, but, I don't think Kubo-sensei really gave him a choice in the matter regarding that. Besides, I think it should be plenty obvious he was designed to be the type that evaluates the situation as they're happening. Not everyone can sit still and observe how things ago. Some people are doers, not observers. Personally, I like Rukia more with her fail drawings, but, I think for all his blandness, Ichigo could use some slack from you, since in the end, the main fault lies with the author for setting him up that way! :P
Oh, and one final thing: he's not the main character if he's not "intense"! ahahaha XD
But, hey, speed can count as technique, because you have to admit, not everyone can beat back thousands of blades all at once with just speed alone. (I'm thinking of when he fought against Byakuya.) But, I agree, I want to see Urahara doing some real damage to Yhwach. Because he's bound to make it entertaining in his own way.
And that's the end of my rant to your rant! :)
