Some no mai, Tsukishiro (初の舞・月白, First Dance, Moon White; Viz "Dance Number One, White Moon") is a technique of Rukia Kuchiki's Zanpakutō, Sode no Shirayuki.
Description[]
As Rukia calls out the name of the dance while holding her Zanpakutō upside down, the blade glows. Making a slashing motion when her target is in position, Rukia draws a circle with the tip of Sode no Shirayuki. The space within this circle and anything inside freezes.[1] The circle not only freezes the ground, but everything within the circle's influence, including anything above it up in the air, creating an extending pillar of light which freezes everything within the circle. Shortly after being frozen, the victim shatters along with the ice.[2] The ice pillar will not shatter if the victim is not caught within it.[3][4]
Trivia[]
- Solely in Heat the Soul 3, a precursor to Tsukishiro's Manga/Anime debut was a prior super move of Rukia's named Hyōha Setsugekka (氷破雪月花, Ice Blasting Snow Moon Flower). While it is done similar to to Tsukishiro, it only freezes the foe with a single slash-through before the ice then shatters; the signature light pillar is absent.
