Shūhei Hisagi vs. Findor Carias is a battle that takes place in the Fake Karakura Town and is one of the first in a long series of battles to take place there. This battle involves the lieutenant of the 9th Division, Shūhei Hisagi, facing off against one of Baraggan Luisenbarn's Fracción, Findor Carias, in a fight to defend one of the four pillars.

Prologue

Shūhei Hisagi is assigned to defend one of the four pillars that keeps Karakura Town in the Soul Society. After Hisagi easily dispatches a Hollow attacking the pillar[1], Baraggan Luisenbarn sends four of his Fracción to attack these locations.[2] The Fracción named Findor Carias arrives at Hisagi's location and asks him what position he has in the Gotei 13. Hisagi introduces himself, telling him he's a lieutenant and Findor states that he will fight at that level then.[3]

Battle

The two exchange blows but Hisagi is confused over Findor's previous statement, noting that his power is no greater then their 5th seat officer and Findor tells him that he's correct. He explains to him that it was a test to see if he could correctly gauge his power as if he didn't do this, he wouldn't be able to tell if he was fighting at lieutenant level. Hisagi is confused by this statement since he made it seem as if there was a way for him to fight at his level and Findor tells him again that he's correct. Findor breaks a small portion of his mask and attacks Hisagi while claiming he is now at a 4th seat's level. He then breaks another small portion of his mask, attacks Hisagi yet again, and now claims he's as strong as a 3rd seat. Findor then decides to break nearly his entire mask, leaving only the area around his right eye covered and claims that he's now as powerful as a lieutenant.[4]

Findor attacks Hisagi and sends him crashing into the town below. He then swings his Zanpakutō at Hisagi but he blocks the attack with his own Zanpakutō while Findor tells him that this is a lieutenant's reiatsu and power. He then overpowers Hisagi and is able to make a small cut on his right shoulder, telling him that this is a lieutenant's sword. He then swiftly fires a barrage of attacks at Hisagi and is able to send him flying towards a pole, but Hisagi gains ground on the pole and goes back to fight his opponent with enough force that it destroys the pole. As Hisagi flies towards him, Findor makes use of Sonído to appear before Hisagi and sends him towards some rubble. However, Hisagi immediately gets back up and goes to attack Findor yet again but his blow is easily blocked by Findor's Zanpakutō. Hisagi then slides on the ground and swings his Zanpakutō at Findor's legs but he dodges and Findor balances himself on the ground with his own Zanpakutō. Hisagi goes to attack with his Zanpakutō again but this blow is blocked as well.[5]

The two of them then take their battle up into the air and they exchange blows but Findor's speed is too much for Hisagi as he's able to make a small cut across Hisagi's back. Findor then fires off a Cero at Hisagi but he is able to dodge this. However, Findor tells him it's futile and fires off a barrage of Balas at him. Hisagi tries to dodge all of them but he is eventually shot in the stomach by it. Findor laughs and tells him that this is his lieutenant level reiatsu, Cero and Balas. As Hisagi breaths heavily, Findor asks him how he's feeling and notes that he's looking fatigued. Findor then appears directly in front of Hisagi with Sonído and tells him that it is time he get serious. He hits Hisagi in the head with the hilt of his Zanpakutō and then kicks him away. Hisagi tries to use Shunpo to appear directly behind Findor and attempts to swing his Zanpakutō down on him but Findor catches his arm before he can do anything. Findor states that this is a lieutenant's speed and asks Hisagi if it's natural for a lieutenant to get this worn out while fighting a fellow lieutenant. He then throws Hisagi into the town below while at the same time shooting a Bala at him. Findor then uses Sonído to goe down to his location.[6]

Hisagi's armband about to explode in front of Findor.

Findor tells Hisagi that he looks too exhausted for someone fighting at the same level as him and he asks him what it could possibly mean. Hisagi asks him if he's implying that he's not on the same level as other lieutenants and Findor tells him that he's correct, but notes that he might be wrong if he has misjudged the power of the Gotei 13 itself. Hisagi asks him to stop calling him lieutenant and reiterates that his name is Shūhei Hisagi. Findor apologizes for not following etiquette and states that his name is Findor Carias. He then says that he is going to end this with the method that the Gotei 13 prefers, which is cutting him down. Findor goes into his Resurrección, Pinza Aguda and Hisagi remarks to himself that this is what a Resurrección looks like. Findor states that he's well informed and Hisagi warns him that he's making a huge mistake in thinking that the Arrancar are the only ones who have information on their enemy. Findor tells him that he thinks nothing of the sort and immediately splits part of the building that Hisagi is on with his arm. Findor tells him that he was correct in having enough speed to dodge his attack and follow his Sonído to which Hisagi tells him to stop stating that he's correct. He then swings his Zanpakutō at Findor but he blocks the blow with his arm.[7]

Hisagi releases his Zanpakutō.

Findor explains to Hisagi that life is full of difficult problems and that because of that everyone would want to get as many answers correct as they can so that they could survive. Hisagi mocks his attitude of believing that he'll be the one to give those right answers to people. He then takes off his armband and it explodes in front of Findor but he blocks the attack with his arm. However, Hisagi uses this opportunity to use Bakudō #62. Hyapporankan which pins Findor to the wall of a building. Hisagi attempts to finish him off but Findor is able to free his arm and fire a stream of high pressured water at him. It misses but ends up slicing something else in half which Hisagi notices. Findor tells him that he shouldn't keep his eyes off his opponent and fires off more streams of water which eventually envelops Hisagi. However, Hisagi releases his Zanpakutō, Kazeshini, and is able to free himself with it.[8] Findor asks him if this is his Zanpakutō and Hisagi confirms it, but notes that he doesn't like it because its shape makes it look like it's meant to reap lives. Hisagi then goes to attack his opponent.[9]

Hisagi makes a small cut under Findor's left eye. He then swings his Zanpakutō at him but Findor dodges, causing part of the building behind Findor to be destroyed. Before Findor can counter attack, Hisagi appears directly behind him and swings his Zanpakutō down on him. Findor blocks the attack with his left arm and swings his right arm at Hisagi's face, but he dodges this by falling down into the town. Findor attempts to stop him from running away, but Hisagi pulls the chain on his Zanpakutō down causing the other half of his Zanpakutō to attack Findor from behind. As Hisagi swings his Zanpakutō in the air, he tells Findor that he can't read his weapons movements and asks him if he's scared. Findor tells him he isn't and swings his arm at Hisagi but he dodges the attack. Hisagi admits to him that he's scared and Findor asks him if it's because of his weapon and tells him that he's going to wake him up. Findor then breaks part of his mask, leaving only a small portion of it under his right eye, and states that he's now of captain class level. However, Hisagi swings his Zanpakutō backwards, causing it to slice Findor's right arm vertically in half. Hisagi tells him he's ignorant for not fearing his own power or that of the enemies and tells him that he was taught to believe that if you don't fear your sword, your not worthy of holding one. Findor is angered at this and Hisagi appears behind him and tells him that since he's finally starting to feel fear, they can be considered the same level. Hisagi swings his Zanpakutō at him, killing him, and he states that his power wasn't even close to that of a captain.[10]

Aftermath
