Nobutsune Seike (清家 信恒, Seike Nobutsune), also known as The Butler of the Kuchiki House (朽木家家令, Kuchiki-ke no karei), is the chief retainer of the Kuchiki Clan.

Appearance

Nobutsune has the appearance of an old man with a heavily wrinkled face and round, earpiece-less glasses. He has swept back white hair and a thick white mustache. He is slightly hunched over and wears an outfit similar to the standard Shinigami, but with a black kosode reaching down to his knees. There is a white robe over his shoulders which is clasped at the front.

Nobutsune is a quiet and respectful man with great loyalty to the Kuchiki Clan.

History

Rukia is approached to be adopted into the Kuchiki Clan.

Nobutsune was present with Byakuya Kuchiki when he approached Rukia and offered to adopt her into the Kuchiki Clan. They were interrupted by the arrival of Renji Abarai, prompting Nobutsune to state that it was not the place to discuss the matter. As they leave, he told Rukia that they would take their leave and that they were anxiously awaiting her answer. At Byakuya's instruction, he later told Rukia that Byakuya took favor with her because of her resemblance to Hisana Kuchiki and that this was the reason that she was adopted into the Kuchiki Clan.
