Gift Ball (毒入りボール (ギフト・バル), Gifuto Baru; German and Japanese for "Poison Ball") is a technique used by Sternritter "D" Askin Nakk Le Vaar via his Schrift: The Deathdealing.

Description

Askin creates a single or multiple purple, slow-moving balls of poison, either to launch at an opponent or keep suspended in midair. Whoever touches these balls will near-instantly succumb to The Deathdealing's "poisoning" effects, with a single Gift Ball proving potent enough to incapacitate the former 6th Espada, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, making him collapse right after making contact.

Askin can also mix different substances into a ball for a multi-layered poisoning effect, as seen when he pushed Yoruichi Shihōin to the brink of unconsciousness and death by striking her with a Reishi-oxygen-nitrogen Hybrid Gift Ball (霊子・酸素・窒素のハイブリッド毒入りボール (ギフト・バル), Reishi sanso chisso Haiburiddo Gifuto Baru; German and Japanese for "Hybrid Poison Ball").

Trivia

• When Askin used this technique against Grimmjow, he used its name to throw off the Arrancar, making Grimmjow think "Gift" as in "present" (贈り物).
• In the official colored version of Chapter 543, the Gift Ball is depicted as blue as opposed to purple.
