Overview

Aura Michibane (道羽根 アウラ, Michibane Aura) is a Fullbringer who formed and led the "XCUTION Religious Organization", a cult in the Human World that knows about the existence of Soul Society. She is also the host of the Saketsu (鎖結; Japanese for "Binding Chain") of the Soul King. After her death as a Human, she resides as a Soul in Hueco Mundo alongside the Arrancar there.

Appearance[]

Aura is an incredibly beautiful young woman, with short black hair which is longer on her left side. She wears a black business-style suit with a white scarf around her neck, and a golden, X-shaped lapel pin on the chest.[2]

Personality[]

Due to her upbringing, Aura has a rather detached view of the world. Aura is cool, calm and collected and she has a very deliberate manner about her. She is initially unquestioningly loyal to Tokinada, but after the revelation of viewing Hikone Ubuginu as her child, she develops a motherly attitude towards them, sacrificing herself for their sake.

History[]

Aura Michibane was born from a Fullbringer father and a Human mother. While Aura was still in the womb, her mother was attacked by a Hollow, and though her father managed to repel the creature, her mother was gravely wounded. While she survived to give birth to Aura, the injuries resulted in her dying during the childbirth. Since then Aura's father believed it was his powers that attracted the Hollow in the first place and kept trying to rid himself of his Fullbring and feared that his daughter would suffer the same tragedies as him.[3]

Around a dozen years later, Aura's father approached her with news that a Substitute Shinigami named Kūgo Ginjō was gathering all the Fullbringers he could find in order to extract the Hollow powers out of them, rendering them normal Humans. However, Aura did not understand it, and started to contemplate what it meant to be "normal". This is due to the fact that her father left her locked up in a basement for her entire life. While Aura's father did love her, he felt an obsessive need to protect all he had left from his late wife, and has isolated her completely from the outside world. All he did was teach her in basic reading, writing, and physics, and train her Fullbring powers to defend herself.[3]

The day after her father brought the news about Ginjō, he left and never returned again. When Aura was dying from hunger in her isolation, her Fullbringer powers first manifested and tore open the walls, allowing her to escape. However, due to her lack of attachments to any item at all, she never developed a specific Fullbring. Fortunately for her, she was quickly found by the police and placed under protection.[3]

Tokinada meets Aura CFYOW

Aura and Tokinada first meet.

Eventually, she was taken in by relatives of her late mother, the Michibane family. For several years Aura slowly integrated into the outside world, but she remained apathetic to the rest of the world due to her lack of attachment. Her father, the only person she knew and trusted growing up, was constantly slandered by people for his horrific actions.[3]

At some point in her later life, Aura was approached by a mysterious Shinigami after she killed several Hollows in self-defense. The Shinigami revealed himself as Tokinada Tsunayashiro, and the one who killed Aura's father on his family's orders.[3]

When Aura revealed her apathy towards the world, Tokinada decided to recruit her for his plan to create a new world, revealing to Aura that she is the host of the Saketsu of the being known as the Soul King.[3] Not having any motivations or the will to offer resistance, Aura decided to ally herself with Tokinada, and from then on blindly followed his orders, starting with fighting Hollows to train her Fullbring powers.[4]

Eventually, Aura stole the Tenkai Kecchu prototype from Urahara on Tokinada's orders, after which the noble mass produced them and decided he needs thousands of followers. Thus, Aura formed the XCUTION cult by converting people with "miracles" she performed by using her Fullbring powers. Afterwards, Tokinada ordered her to use her powers to construct a massive, floating castle in the Valley of Screams.[4]

An intrigued Aura asked Tokinada who the followers, castle, and throne were for, and the noble responded she would know soon enough. Eventually when the Wandenreich invaded Soul Society, Aura protected Tokinada's home from several Quincy attackers. Afterwards, Tokinada put his grander plan into motion and explained to Aura that he wanted her to create a body for "the King".[4]

Thus, Tokinada granted her access to the corpses of countless Shinigami, Quincy, Humans, and Fullbringers that he has collected, and told her to use them however she saw fit. He explained that she does not need to worry about the brain, as they already found a suitable one. Finally, he explained that that as long as the Saketsu and Hakusui are functional, the body can be kept alive under any circumstances.[4]

Plot[]

Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World[]

Sometime after the defeat of Yhwach, Aura's XCUTION cult has grown significantly throughout the Human World. Eventually, Aura herself approaches Yukio Hans Vorarlberna and introduces herself and her religious organization.[5]

Michibane Aura CFYOW

Aura appears at the Urahara shop.

Over six months later, Aura and Yukio, upon Tokinada Tsunayashiro's orders, combine their Fullbringer powers to isolate Karakura Town in a barrier that prevents Shinigami from entering or exiting the town. As several of Aura's masked cultists converge upon the Urahara Shop, they are fought off by the efforts of Kisuke Urahara and Shūhei Hisagi, prompting Aura to directly reveal herself to the two Shinigami.[2]

When Hisagi asks Aura if she is a Fullbringer like Yukio, she acknowledges this, and to Hisagi's shock addresses him by his rank while saying "Exacta"; a word that was often uttered by an opponent of his named Findorr Calius. While Aura intitially tries to use her charm and beauty to placate Hisagi, Urahara's voice snaps him out of it, causing Aura to expresses her disappointment that she failed at using her charm to avoid conflict. She then introduces herself to the two Shinigami, declaring herself a "maid for the gods who govern death".[2]

When Aura's cultists attack them again, Hisagi declares to Aura that he now sees her as an enemy; to which Aura merely replies that if Hisagi swears not to be an obstacle to them she will cease her attack on him at once. Hisagi proceeds to ask her why she is attacking them in the first place, but Aura reveals that this is merely a "preparation". When Hisagi inquires further, Aura mentions that Karakura Town is the greatest Jūreichi in the world. Alarmed, Hisagi asks if they are planning on forging an Ōken like Sōsuke Aizen tried to do, but Aura replies that she has no intention of doing that or sacrificing the innocent people in it. Rather, the plan is to make Karakura Town the new capital of "The King".[2]

When a shocked Hisagi utters Hikone Ubuginu's name, Aura's calm demeanor falters and she demands to know how Hisagi knows that name. Hisagi replies by asking if Aura is a subordinate of Tokinada Tsunayashiro, which she confirms. Urahara then interrupts them and cryptically reveals that he knows what the masked cultists actually are, to Aura's surprise. Aura asks if Urahara discovered her special abilities and he replies that he knows it is the opposite; Aura is a Fullbringer who has no special abilities.[2]

Aura admits surprise and intimidation that Urahara managed to discern so much about her from so little information. Urahara replies that he could not ignore the sudden rise of the XCUTION cult shortly after the Quincy war, and he already knew that Aura was the cult's leader. Aura says she expects as much from the man who created the Hōgyoku, and emphasizes they want Urahara on their side at all costs.[2]

When Hisagi demands to know what the Hōgyoku has to do with anything, Aura threatens to remove him by force if he keeps interfering. In response, Hisagi has his Zanpakutō at Aura's throat before she can even react and threatens her instead, to her shock and admiration. Aura says that she expects as much from a Shinigami whose sense of justice is strong enough to cut down his own mentor. However, Hisagi is not baited, saying that compared to Aizen, she cannot provoke him so easily. Aura asks if Hisagi wants to join them instead, but he says that the only reason he has not killed her yet is because he wants her to lift the barrier first.[2]

Aura proceeds to change the subject, and confirms that she has indeed been assembling a religious organization; she says that most of their followers were not initial believers, but rather "heathens" who converted. Saying that the XCUTION cult has over seven hundred and seventy thousand followers, Aura asks Hisagi how he thinks they managed to grow so quickly in such a short time. When Hisagi does not speculate, Aura impales herself on his Zanpakutō and decapitates herself, to his shock.[2]

As Aura's head falls, it says that she merely preformed miracles in front of the people, before her body catches her head and reattaches it. Hisagi asks if she is a form of Hollow with High-Speed Regeneration, and Aura says that while she's a Fullbringer, that indeed means there is a Hollow element involved.[2]

In response, Hisagi releases Kazeshini and attacks her, causing Aura to compliment Hisagi's prowess and Kazeshini supposedly being a rare dual-type Zanpakutō. Hisagi corrects her and says that Kazeshini is in fact not a dual-type. As Hisagi presses his attack on Aura, he eventually tries to confine her with the chains of Kazeshini and Bakudō #62. Hyapporankan. However, to Hisagi's surprise, Aura's body turns intangible and she frees herself. Before their fight can continue, Urahara appears behind Hisagi and injects him with a syringe, explaining that the injection will release Hisagi's Gentei Kaijo, allowing him to fight at full power. Urahara then says that thanks to Hisagi he could confirm what Aura's powers are.[2]

As Urahara explains, while Aura is indeed a Fullbringer, she does not possess a specific Fullbring; rather, she only has access to the generic powers all Fullbringers have, but magnified to far greater degrees, and compares Aura to a Shinigami without a Zanpakutō that can use Kidō and Hakuda at Aizen's level. Impressed, Aura applauds Urahara's insight, and explains this is exactly why they want him: to create a new Hōgyoku to ascend Hikone Ubuginu to godhood.[2]

While Urahara and Hisagi continue fighting Aura, she uses her powers to manifest countless massive, dark red eastern dragons out of her own blood and iron. As Urahara confirms that Aura's powers are nothing unique to her, rather they are basic Fullbring powers used at unseen levels, he releases Benihime. As Urahara tests several of Benihime's powers on the blood dragons to no effect, he realizes that both Benihime and Kazeshini are ill-suited for a fight like this.[6]

Switching tactics, Urahara uses a full incantation Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō on Aura, which manages to hurt Aura even after she formed the nitrogen in the air into a protective barrier. While Urahara says he is impressed that he had to use the same Kidō spell he used against Aizen, Aura once again tries to recruit him. Urahara turns Aura down once again, saying he cannot just make another Hōgyoku, otherwise he would have created one to empower Ichigo Kurosaki. Bemused, Aura cryptically mentions that she knows that it is a lie; as Urahara falls silent, Aura mentions that if Urahara had given a Hōgyoku to Ichigo instead, something very different would have happened.[6]

Urahara asks how much Aura actually knows, to which she responds by saying they should not speak in front of the confused Hisagi, as he is still a reporter. After speaking to Hisagi, Urahara returns his attention to Aura, who uses her Fullbring to turn the moisture in the atmosphere into a giant water dragon, while simultaneously creating a dragon made out of magma. As both elemental dragons converge upon Urahara and Hisagi, Urahara casts Hadō #99. Goryūtenmetsu, and the two attacks collide. As smoke covers the area, Yukio uses his Fullbring to entrap and kidnap Urahara, and likewise gives Aura an opportunity to escape.[6]

Sometime later, Aura meets up with Tokinada inside the Valley of Screams, to which he explains to her what a Valley of Screams is exactly. As Tokinada muses about how the Valley of Screams was once used by the Five Families to exile the Ryōdoji Family, Aura openly wonders what Tokinada would have done had the same happened to him. When he asks Aura if she would want to make an enemy of the Gotei 13, Aura responds no, as she saw what Kisuke Urahara alone was capable of. She then proceeds to mention Hisagi's presence during the encounter, causing Tokinada to relish the chance to kill the late Kaname Tōsen's protege.[7]

After Shunsui Kyōraku and his allies enter the replica palace, Aura confronts her fellow Fullbringers Kūgo Ginjō, Shūkurō Tsukishima, and Giriko Kutsuzawa. As Aura effortlessly turns intangible to avoid her enemies' attacks, Ginjō tries to probe her for information. While Yukio remotely confirms that he helped Aura isolate Karakura Town, Ginjō wants to know Aura's end goal, to which Aura asks Ginjō if he still desires to get revenge on the Shinigami. When Ginjō assumes that Yukio told Aura about his past, Yukio reveals that it was the opposite - Aura came to him with information. Aura reveals to Ginjō that her father was the Fullbringer Tenshiyo Agata, and she sincerely thanks Ginjō for giving her father hope.[8]

While Ginjō disagrees with this statement because he blames himself for the deaths of the Fullbringers at that time, he asks Aura why she works alongside a Shinigami like Tokinada. Aura replies that Tokinada wants the Fullbringers on his side to create a new world, a world where they can be "predators" again. Before they can continue, Tsukishima takes advantage of the situation to use Book of the End on Yukio and declares that it will allow him to discover and undo any brainwashing done on his former comrade. However, as Aura continues to smile, Tsukishima suddenly turns on Ginjō and Giriko, apologizing as he strikes them as well.[8]

Later, as the battle between Shunsui and Tokinada progresses, Aura senses that both Ikomikidomoe and Tokinada have unleashed their full power, prompting Yukio to mutter that Aura's powers are a "cheat code." Aura mentions Urahara's presence before sensing that Hisagi has awakened in the throne room of the fake palace. Intrigued by his presence, Aura decides to confront Hisagi first.[9]

Aura finds Hisagi trying to find a way out of the palace and tells him there is no way to escape by himself. When Hisagi draws his Zanpakutō and demands to know where Urahara is, Aura assures him that Urahara is completely unharmed; so Hisagi instead demands to be let out. Aura explains that only Hikone, Tokinada, and her can freely exit or enter the throne room, leading Hisagi to ask if she still plans to use the Hōgyoku to make Hikone the Soul King. While Aura only confirms that this is Tokinada's wish, Hisagi compares them to Aizen's attempt to overthrow the Soul King with the Hōgyoku. While Aura is confused for a moment, she quickly realizes that Hisagi has no idea what the Soul King truly is. Hisagi asserts that he knows enough, that Mimihagi saved the worlds after Yhwach killed the Soul King, but admits that he does doubt that truth and asks Aura if there is more he should know.[10]

Aura only responds that Hikone would keep the worlds more stable than they were before, leading Hisagi to declare that he will stop Hikone even if they want to become the Soul King. Hisagi points out how Hikone is still ignorant of everything and only knows what Tokinada taught them. He then asserts that he would not say anything more and would be prepared to fight Hikone if they still wished to continue after experiencing the totality of the world. Hisagi decides that he must meet Tokinada himself, both as a journalist and as a Shinigami.[10]

Hearing this, Aura retorts that knowing the whole world will not guarantee happiness and that some people would prefer living isolated from the outside world, but Hisagi notes that while he initially thought Hikone was like that, he knows now that the child does have their own will. In response, Aura smiles and walks towards a confused Hisagi before whispering something in his ear. As Hisagi struggles to understand what she meant, Aura vanishes and leaves an open doorway for Hisagi to leave through.[10]

Later, Aura intervenes in the battle between Shunsui and Tokinada, halting one of Shunsui's attacks with her Fullbring powers. As she apologizes to Shunsui for interrupting him, Aura turns to Hisagi, who is also present, and politely asks that he hears Tokinada's story to the end because someone of Hisagi's profession deserves to hear the truth.[11]

After Hisagi and Tokinada begin to battle, Aura stands by. Tokinada uses the powers of Kyōka Suigetsu to switch places with Aura while using Tsuchinamazu to create a statue to be attacked and "wounded" in his place. Then, by pretending to have Aura attack Hisagi, Tokinada tricks Hisagi into opening his eyes. With Hisagi stunned by this event, Aura reveals herself to be unharmed. She is then asked by Tokinada to kill everyone other than Hisagi. However, Tokinada recalls the other Fullbringers and asks Aura what she did to them, since he only knows that they turned on each other. Aura explains that it was Yukio's doing, with her only amplifying his powers.[12]

However, this is revealed to be part of Aura's plan to double-cross Tokinada when the latter attempts to use Kyōka Suigetsu on Ginjō and fails. A smiling Aura reminds the confused Tokinada of how Kyōka Suigetsu can be disabled as she uses her Fullbring powers to keep hold of the sword. Before Tokinada can react further, Aura uses her Fullbring to restrain him.[12]

Aura flashes back to her past, where she notes she had no attachments nor motivations; to herself, she was simply another gear turning in the machine until the day she died. All that changed, however, once Tokinada ordered her to create new life. While Aura initially performed the difficult task without much care, once the new being actually started to truly live on its own, Aura began to feel joy and affection for the first time in her life, leading to the start of her tearing down the metaphorical glass walls surrounding her and entering the rest of the world.[12]

While Aura knew what the new lifeform's ultimate fate was according to Tokinada's desires, she initially did not care much about that. However, one day this being known as Hikone approached her and revealed that Tokinada told them to see Aura as their mother. While Hikone admitted they did not fully comprehend what a "mother" was, they still sincerely thanked Aura for giving them life. Seeing her own younger self in Hikone, Aura finally started to understand how her father felt towards her and what it means to want to protect someone. While Aura remained apathetic toward herself, she could not accept Hikone befalling a similar or even worse fate.[12]

Due to this, Aura decided to work against Tokinada solely to save Hikone, even if that meant that Hikone would resent her. Wanting to avoid the mistakes of her father, Aura instead wanted Hikone to experience the full world and decide their own fate. Even if Hikone were to still choose to follow Tokinada, at least the child would do so having known all their options.[12]

Back in the present, a struggling Tokinada reveals that he always knew Aura would eventually betray him before admitting that he did not expect her to do so at this very moment. Before Aura can react further, she falls to her knees, exhausted and barely able to breathe, and Ginjō wonders what is happening. Tokinada taunts her, and Yumichika Ayasegawa realizes that Tokinada is using Ruri'iro Kujaku to drain Aura's Reiatsu.[12]

Tokinada further taunts Aura by declaring that she should have betrayed him before he activated Kyōka Suigetsu, and reveals that he knew of Aura's maternal love for Hikone before mockingly mentioning that he feels a similar interest in Hikone's growth. As Ginjō moves in to attack him again, Tokinada tries to activate Kyōka Suigetsu once more, but is unable to as Aura refuses to loosen her hold on Enrakyōten, causing him to get hit by Ginjō's attack regardless. While Tokinada is unable to understand why she is willing to sacrifice herself in a meaningless way, Aura smiles at the fact that, despite hundreds of thousands of cultists worshiping her, she herself is only staying alive for the sake of one child.[12]

With Aura losing consciousness, Tokinada has a diabolical idea and decides to order Hikone to kill Aura. Tokinada tries to makes Ginjō question Aura's truthfulness towards him, only for Ginjō to reveal that Yukio and Tsukishima had already extracted the full truth from Aura's past; when Aura contacted Yukio for the first time, she used her powers to place a code on her business card that could be read by Yukio's Fullbring, which asked him to cooperate with her in exchange for information on the true culprits behind the Fullbringer massacre, and when Tsukishima used Book of the End on Yukio, he uncovered the truth and passed it onto Ginjō.[12]

While Aura clings to consciousness, Tokinada attempts to activate the Kidō Cannon after his battle against Ginjō, but discovers it has been sabotaged by Urahara. In response, Tokinada activates a failsafe, collapsing the lower parts of the palace and destroying the mechanism keeping the palace afloat to keep Urahara and the others busy. As the Tenkai Kecchu activates, the palace descends towards Karakura Town. The palace begins to break apart from the strain, endangering everyone present, but Aura quickly uses her Fullbring powers on the very air around them, causing the palace's descent to halt.[13]

However, Hisagi realizes that the strain of using that much of her powers, combined with her earlier fight, will be fatal to Aura. While Aura is amused that Hisagi voices concern for an enemy of his, Tokinada interrupts them and mockingly thanks Aura for providing him with one last amusement before loudly ordering Hikone to kill her immediately. Before anyone can react, Hikone instantly appears before them to carry out Tokinada's orders, but Hisagi quickly places himself between Hikone and Aura. Hikone politely asks Hisagi to step aside and reveals that they indeed intend to kill Aura because it was Tokinada's command.[13]

While Hisagi attempts to reason with Hikone, mentioning that Aura defied Tokinada while trying to protect the child's life, Aura interrupts them and tries to dissuade Hikone herself by reminding them that physical attacks cannot hurt her. However, Hikone calls her bluff by asking her why she does not use her Fullbring to turn to fog and disappear right now. In response, Hisagi tightens his grip on Kazeshini, and Aura asks him why he would go that far for her. Hisagi explains that he has to deal with it because of both personal reasons and his belief that Aura is a decent person worth protecting.[13]

As he keeps enduring the pain of Hikone's attacks, Hisagi continues to calmly teach the child about their mistakes as a weakening Aura looks at him with satisfaction. Aura notes that, even though Hisagi is not famous like Ichigo, powerful like Kenpachi, a genius like Urahara, charismatic like Shunsui, nor having any other remarkable traits, the Shinigami will always stick to his resolve and convictions no matter what. Eventually the Reiatsu of both Hisagi and Hikone is almost completely drained and they collapse from fatigue, but Hisagi gently tells Hikone that exactly because they live in an unkind world, it is important they be as kind as possible to each other.[13]

Hisagi deactivates Fushi no Kōjyō, intending to incapacitate Hikone with Hakufuku, but before anyone can react, the blade of Ikomikidomoe suddenly turns into its Hollow form and lunges with bared fangs towards Hikone. However, Aura barely manages to jump between them and has a large part of her stomach ripped out.[13]

Aura Vanishes CFYOW

Aura dies in front of Hikone.

While Nanao tries to use Kaidō to heal Aura, the Fullbringer refuses treatment and instead requests that Hikone be healed first. As Nanao proceeds to do so, Urahara contacts the group again and reveals that he managed to open a large Garganta to send the falling palace into Hueco Mundo instead. Aura reveals this was Yukio's idea and proceeds to use her remaining strength to direct the palace into the Garganta, an act which Hisagi notes will certainly kill her. Claiming she will die satisfied, having been able to save Hikone, Aura turns into mist as a tearful Hikone begs her to stay.[13]

After Aura and most of the debris of the palace have disappeared into the Garganta, Hikone laments the choices they have made, having failed at their only purpose in life and trying to kill the woman who helped create them. Hikone asks Hisagi why Aura went to all the trouble of saving them, but Hisagi only states that she simple chose to. A regretful Hikone asks Hisagi if they are still qualified to call Aura their mother after what happened, and Hisagi replies that he will teach Hikone all they wish to know and will take the child under his wing.[13]

Sometime later, it is revealed that Aura had left the entire XCUTION cult to Yukio to govern. In Hueco Mundo, Aura wakes up to find herself looking at the ruined remains of the replica palace and realizes she does not remember anything since she vanished into the Garganta. As Aura assumed she would have floated in the void until her death, she wonders how she survived the passage. Initially content that Hikone could have lived, Aura resigns herself to bleeding to death in the sands until she realizes she feels no pain. As she tries to stand up, she finds a female Arrancar treating her wounds and is approached by Nelliel, who congratulates Roka Paramia for her excellent medical work.[14]

As Nelliel properly introduces herself and Harribel, Aura finds the latter standing near the ruins looking towards a group of childlike Arrancar playing in the rubble. Nelliel claims Harribel is more shy than she appears, though she is very good with children who adore her in turn. To a confused Aura, Nelliel introduces the children as the Pícaro, a group of Arrancar collectively designated Arrancar #102. After contemplating this, Aura asks Nelliel how she ended up in Hueco Mundo, prompting the former Espada to explain that she recovered Aura from the Garganta before revealing that Aura's human body did die back then and only her greatly weakened Soul could be recovered.[14]

With Aura shocked at such kindness coming from an Arrancar, Nelliel calls upon Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Birstanne to prepare food for her. After Harribel and Roka join, Aura is served a dish made from the plant life that exists in Hueco Mundo. Trying the food, Aura is overcome with emotions due to the exquisite taste. Nelliel asks her what she plans to do, and when Aura explains that she has nowhere to go, Nelliel invites her to stay in Hueco Mundo under their protection, leading her and Nelliel start to bond over their mutual love of food and cooking while Aura looks forward to the day she can meet Hikone again.[14]

Powers & Abilities[]

Immense Spiritual Power: As the host of the Soul King's Saketsu, Aura possesses an immense amount of Reiryoku. Aura's Reiatsu is of such a degree that she can fight evenly with Kisuke Urahara,[6] and single-handedly defeat several Wandenreich soldiers.[4] Urahara compares the nature of Aura's power to a Shinigami that can use Hakuda and Kidō of Sōsuke Aizen's caliber,[2] though he also deduces she is not as powerful, as he managed to injure her with his own Kidō while Aizen withstood the same attacks without sustaining any damage.[6]

Keen Intellect: Aura has proven to be a knowledgeable and perceptive individual, possessing knowledge on the Hōgyoku and impressing even Urahara, a genius in his own right, by seeing through his lies regarding the orb.[6] She correctly determines that Tokinada Tsunayashiro's copy of Kyōka Suigetsu is far less powerful than the original, due to Tokinada requiring to reactivate it constantly, and repeatedly uses its weakness against him.[12]

Enhanced Endurance: Aura is a surprisingly resilient fighter. She remained able to use her powers while near death to hold a replica of the Soul King Palace in place for a significant amount of time, and still barely survived an attack from Ikomikidomoe, only dying minutes after because she refused treatment.[13]

Fullbring[]

Uniquely, Aura lacks a specific Fullbring, having only access to the basic powers every Fullbringer has, but at a much more magnified level.[2] This is due to her sheltered upbringing, preventing her from forming attachments to anything.[3]

  • Matter Manipulation: Using her Fullbring powers, Aura can freely manipulate the souls of any matter, such as air, earth, blood, and bone. Augmented by her immense Reiryoku, it allows her to perform incredible feats that she refers to as "miracles".[2]
  • Intangibility: Using her Fullbring powers on herself, Aura can become intangible, allowing her to pass through any solid matter.[2]
  • Self-Healing: Using her Fullbring powers on herself, Aura can heal any injuries she sustains, up to decapitation.[2]
  • Nitrogen Barrier: Aura forms the nitrogen in the air around her into a barrier to shield herself. This barrier is strong enough to repel a large amount of Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō's power.[6] She can also use the air to vastly increase her physical range, such as when she restrains Tokinada and Enrakyōten from a considerable distance away,[12] and suspend a structure as large as the Soul King Palace in the air for an extended period of time.[13]
  • Elemental Dragons: Aura reshapes the moisture in the atmosphere, as well as any soil in her vicinity, and forms it into gigantic dragons made out of water and lava. This attack is strong enough to collide with Hadō #99. Goryūtenmetsu, causing both to cancel each other out.[6]

Weaknesses[]

Fullbring[]

Kidō: While Aura's skill at using Fullbring makes her almost impossible to defeat by melee techniques, Kisuke Urahara notes that Aura is weaker towards Kidō-based powers. Indeed, Urahara casting a full incantation Hadō #91. Senju Kōten Taihō on her did manage to injure Aura and leave her winded, though she admitted to underestimating the difference in power between Urahara and Shūhei Hisagi's Kidō.[6] Likewise, as Tokinada notes, Kidō-based Zanpakutō such as Ruri'iro Kujaku are highly effective against Aura no matter how she utilizes her Fullbring.[12]

Reiatsu Requirement: Aura's abilities become severely limited as her Reiatsu depletes. After being drained of it from Ruri'iro Kujaku's ability, she could not turn herself into mist to avoid Hikone Ubuginu's attacks and still hold the Soul King Palace replica at the same time, and was unable to heal herself after Ikomikidomoe's attack.[13]
