Honestly, I feel like they definitely need to add some more content, fix the story and explain more things if they want this revival to be successful. Amazing animation and fight scenes can only do so much when the story was hit and miss.. with so much lost potential, especially when the popularity declined so much because of it.
Even if they do get some new fans, who have never heard of Bleach before, to watch it, the mediocre story and the bad ending will just put them off and make them quit... eventually ending up losing popularity like the manga did.. There's no point in just reanimating the final arc as it is when there is clearly so much missing from it.. they certainly can't reply soley on the old Bleach fanbase.. even some of the old fans of the manga and anime have gone off of it.
Yes Bleach news is trending at the top worldwide... that's cos it's easy to press a retweet button or do some hashtags in the spur of the moment than to be committed to it. Where was all this popularity, trending and support from the fans when the anime ended and during it's final arc? This short burst of excitement from the announcement will quickly fall when no improvements are being made. As much as I like an anime to be faithful to the manga, I really hope they don't do that but fix it for the better.
They sure as hell ain't animating Bleach again out of generosity for the fans.. it's cos they see a future and a profit in Bleach.. There's no point in reviving something if they have no intention of doing anything else with it in the future (for a franchise this big with so much more that can be added to it)... especially when the end result will certainly be another quick rise and fall in popularity if they don't fix the problems in the past..
