Picture Change Guidelines

As per the Image Policy, nominate and discuss changes to the profile pictures of the character articles here and only here. The typical requirements for a profile picture are that it shows the character facing forward, in their typical attire and should not be battle-worn. They should be centered, have good lighting, and be of good quality. Candidates also must have valid and complete {{fair use}} and {{fair use rationale}} templates attached to them or else they will be rejected.

  • Vote by typing either of the following in the relevant sections:

Only one "Support" vote per user. Votes will be open only for a week of the initial pic being placed. At the end of the week the highest rated pic will win. If no pick is a clear winner, than an admin with pick the pic. If another pic is brought up after the picture is picked then the voting begins again with the pic that has already been picked and the new pic or pics.

Rangiku Time skip image proposal

Okay this is the best shot I could find of her. I used a little photoshopery and removed the bubbles and added the sleeve back in. I also highlighted the eyes a bit. I am hesitant about the idea of using "touched up" pictures, but I don't find it objectionable otherwise. We don't exactly have a suitable substitute, unless the same edits can be applied to a scanlated copy. Mohrpheus (Talk) 18:12, January 31, 2013 (UTC)

To be honest Rangiku has not been seen in a meaningful way in this arc yet and i know we could use this pic until another comes along, but it really looks bad as in she looks like she has just been had a serious trauma take place in her life instead of looking even partly normal as she does in the pic we currently use. I know this is a horrible picture but other that the dramatic eye from the Lts. Meeting this is the only close up we have of her in this arc. Secondly, while the current pic is not the best, it is certainly better than the proposal. The proposal is of low quality, low definition and is blurry. I'd much rather we find the episode this picture comes from or find a better quality one. I know we all hate the arc, but there are many good pictures for characters in the reigai arc.--God|Pray01:44,3/17/2013
  6. 180px-Symbol oppose vote oversat.svg Oppose - To be fair, you can add the Fair Use Rationale and the proper legal tags to the current image, and Yumichika is still looking at the camera. The proposal, while yes, it does show Yumichika facing the camera at a more normal angle, has a couple of issues. His mouth is open, there are distortions in his appearance (his outline is somewhat crooked), and there are some dullness in his colors (though this is possibly how the image was originally colored). Why would you upload the exact same picture as me as a different file rather than just uploading a new version of my file? It is a waste of file space.--God|Pray14:03,3/19/2013
It means that people can see both versions and choose which they prefer, which would not be the case if overwriting the pic. Losing candidates can be deleted afterwards if they serve no other purpose. Anyway this is a ballot: please vote and comment on the merits of the pictures and not anything else. ~~Ууp <talk> 14:14, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Post-Timeskip

Yumichika's current profile picture after seventeen months shows him from an awkward angle with an angry expression and a very open mouth; frankly, his facial expressions don't go well at all with his personality. The proposal shows him at a better angle with a more relaxed appearance. He's still looking forward and while his mouth is still open and there are text bubbles, I believe this represents him better than the current. Glass Heart (GHeart) 05:28,3/25/2013
