Picture Change Guidelines

As per the Image Policy, nominate and discuss changes to the profile pictures of the character articles here and only here. The typical requirements for a profile picture are that it shows the character facing forward, in their typical attire and should not be battle-worn. They should be centered, have good lighting, and be of good quality. Candidates also must have valid and complete {{fair use}} and {{fair use rationale}} templates attached to them or else they will be rejected.

Only one "Support" vote per user. Votes will be open only for a week of the initial pic being placed. At the end of the week the highest rated pic will win. If no pick is a clear winner, than an admin with pick the pic. If another pic is brought up after the picture is picked then the voting begins again with the pic that has already been picked and the new pic or pics.

Something about Ichigo's current pre-timeskip picture has always bugged me. I think it's the strange...thinness to his body, how his face looks real narrow and pointy, as well as how he's facing slightly to the side and has this sort of glow about him due to the scene it's from. I just found an alternative from episode 313 where he's completely facing forward, is drawn better and has a proper chin, and is in regular lighting. The only downside I can see is the part of Renji's shoulder being visible on the left, but honestly it's such a minor thing that I personally don't care.--Xilinoc ^(talk) 02:20, February 22, 2019 (UTC)

Yūichi Shibata

Yūichi's current profile image has him to the side, not directly facing the camera, with dusk/sundown lighting, while my proposal is centered on him facing the camera during the daytime. Seems an easy choice to me.--Xilinoc ^(talk) 18:43, March 9, 2019 (UTC)

Mizuiro Kojima (pre-timeskip)

Kinda minor changes here, but Mizuiro's current pre-timeskip image irks me with his non-neutral expression, tilted stance, and slight facing away from the camera (I know his eyes are looking forward, but still). Ryō Utagawa

Current: off to the side, closed in on his face, at a slight angle. Proposal: centered, shows his entire head, completely even keel. Can't say much more than that. Szayelaporro Granz

Always felt Szayel's current image was a bit too zoomed-in and at an odd angle, but only now have I come across a suitable replacement - front-facing, showing more of his head, and a bit more on-model (by virtue of being pre-Amagai). Time for a change.--Xilinoc ^(talk) 21:56, March 29, 2019 (UTC)

Kenpachi Zaraki

Probably should've put this up 5 years ago when it would've been relevant, but I only just noticed how bad Kenpachi's current post-timeskip image is: I fully understand that it's the best we got from the anime, but he's not facing the camera, it's at night, and most glaringly it's off-model (check out that right eye a good inch lower than the left and the super elongated nose). Thankfully, Kubo gave a great alternative in the last arc with a pretty detailed shot of him from the front in the daylight, and with my hands on the colored manga it's got all the advantages of the anime version with none of the Pierrot drawbacks. Tessai Tsukabishi

I never have liked Tessai's current profile image - it's kinda zoomed out, he's not facing the camera, his head's cut off at the top, it's from a lower-quality filler episode - but I assumed it was the best we'd gotten of a fairly minor character, so imagine my surprise when I came across the perfect replacement in the Bount arc. Now he's facing forward, it's focused on his head and shoulders, you can see his ENTIRE head, and best of all it's great quality. Orihime Inoue

Speaking strictly in terms of our profile image requirements, there's nothing *wrong* with Orihime's current pre-timeskip image - she's facing forward, it's focused on her head and shoulders, she's not battle-worn and it's of good quality. This is more a quality update than anything - my proposal comes 52 episodes later, after the anime went true HD and Pierrot upped the quality of character designs and colors, so now Orihime just looks better and brighter on all fronts (face, hair, clothing). Mayuri Kurotsuchi

I wasn't planning on replacing this at first because it's pretty decent, but I came across an alternative in the latter half of the Hueco Mundo arc that highlights the problems Mayuri's current pre-timeskip photo has: it's zoomed out, he's sorta turned to the side and not looking directly at the camera, and he's also a biiiiit to the left of the center. On the other hand, my proposal is properly focused an centered on his face while still showing off his dank Hueco Mundo hairstyle and he's 100% facing forward.
