Countdown timer glitch

Hey god, check the JS for the countdown. If you look at the one for Unohana vs Kenpachi, which was done a little while ago, you'd find the timer counting up rather than staying at 0. Kamikaze839 (talk) 18:51, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

That's how the timer works. It is meant to count up once it finishes counting down. I would need to completely rework the script to change that.--God|Pray18:56,2/5/2013

Why not make a section on the Arena page where users can suggest battles?--Xilinoc (talk) 20:48, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

I agree. Make it a sub-page actually. Though we would have to establish a criteria for suggestions. My criteria is:

  1. Is it possible for the battle to not be too one sided?
  2. What kind of battle will it be? (Fight, zanpakuto, badassery, etc.)
  3. Why do you think people would be interested in the battle?
  4. Has any character/item been featured in the battle recently?

That's the criteria, and if we go through with it, I think it can work. The people deciding on the battles should then be Xil, God, and I since we are the three who go to the page the most to vote, check to see if the users are making the right votes, fixing the votes, removing them if need be, setting up the next battle, etc. I would suggest the entire committee but then that would take too long to decide and not everyone in the committee goes to the Arena. --Kamikaze839 (talk) 20:56, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

We can make a suggestions page, but I hardly expect anything to come of it. If you take a look at Template talk:Bleach Poll, you can see that 1. many of the suggestions were not great, 2. barely anyone suggested things and 3. the page tended to be forgotten. Combine that with the fact that nearly everyone who votes on these still thinks every week is a fight and I don't really have high hopes for a suggestion page. I tend to think of these a few days in advance but I will consider suggestions.--God|Pray04:22,3/15/2013
I think barely anyone suggested the poll because it wasn't advertised enough. As for the suggestions, I can see where you're coming from, but users to come out with a homerun idea from time to time. PS. Arrancar109 suggested Tsukishima vs Aizen, who's the better manipulator. --Kamikaze839 (talk) 04:29, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Seeing as it hasn't happened yet, I can see why it hasn't been addressed, but what happens in the event of a tie when time runs out? Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 16:13, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

It is doubtful that will happen, I usually abstain from voting so in that case I can give the swaying vote!! There's only two choices in these face offs and many users vote so its unlikely!! SunXia (Chat) 16:44,4/11/2013
Swaying vote in case of a tie. If this were a national election, you'd be the most corrupt voter ever! But hey, if it works, it works. Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 16:53, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Its an extra vote, theres nothing corrupt about it, like I said it wouldn't happen and its a fun game don't make it bigger then what it is!! I only vote when required!! SunXia (Chat) 17:01,4/11/2013

Tie message

I've noticed that the message when the voting reaches a tie is as follows:

"The Following Is a Tie, the voting period has been extended to tomorrow evening"

Honestly, this seems very ambiguous, for lack of a better word. Having the message display the words "tomorrow evening" while the timer says there's 3 hours left makes it look like someone wasn't paying attention when they changed the timer (this statement is not meant as offense to anyone, just saying what it seems like to the average person). Maybe for future reference, this message should say "extended to [day] evening"?

On a side note... does the tie rule change for the tournament? Schiffy (Speak to me|What I've done) 22:21, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

Unsigned Votes Still Valid?

In the last semifinal battle between Tsukishima and Äs Nödt, Äs was deemed the winner by one vote. However when looking at votes 6 and 7 for Äs Nödt[[1]], they are both unsigned and should be disqualified; leaving Tsukishima the winner by one vote. I believe the rules say that all unsigned votes will be stricken from the record, or am I missing something here?Stefan (Shikai - "Rust & Shatter") (talk) 11:30, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Some people just seem to sign that way. The votes have to be signed, but there's nothing saying they have to be signed with the standard "~~~~". As long as there is record of who made the vote, it should be fine, even if it looks like that. KenjiSchiffyTalk to meView my work00:43,7/23/2013 UTC
Bane7's sig was a bit messed up but s/he did sign it. The other voter did sign, just did not post timestamp as part of their sig. I don't think that there is any major problem here that requires removal of their votes, though I leave that up to the people that actually run the arena. ~~Ууp <talk> 11:09, July 23, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I thought the standard "~~~~" was required, but I guess the name is the important part of the sig. anyway. Stefan (Shikai - "Rust & Shatter") (talk) 18:13, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Though I agree that if someone does not sign at all, leaving someone else to add the Unsigned template, then it shouldn't be counted. KenjiSchiffyTalk to meView my work18:20,7/23/2013 UTC

I was thinking that maybe it is time to remove the tournament from here. Either archive it or maybe push it down under the arena voting section if there is a desire to keep that bit on the page for some reason. My main concern is that the vote section should be above the tournament as it is no longer active. ~~Ууp <talk> 09:53, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

Seconded Sicarius001 (talk) 05:55, October 14, 2013 (UTC)

I've been thinking that something needs to be done with it for a while. but I haven't really thought of a place to put it, since I don't exactly want to outright remove it and leave it nowhere. KenjiSchiffyTalk to meView my work12:02,10/14/2013 UTC
I'd say stick it down with the archive links, but put it in show/hide tags so it doesn't take up space, but is still there and easily accessible. ~~Ууp <talk> 12:40, October 14, 2013 (UTC)
