Hello and welcome to the Bleach Wiki. There are very few policies which apply across all of Wikia; the ones that do can be found at their Policy Category.

In addition to these policies, there have been policies and guidelines that have been developed on the Bleach Wiki to further our goal of creating an informative Bleach database. Our policies apply to all editors.

We at the Bleach Wiki strive to create a welcoming and fun environment for those who are civil and assume good faith in others, seek consensus in discussions, and work towards the goal of creating an increasingly comprehensive database about everything in the Bleach Universe.

Policies need to be approached with common sense; adhere to the spirit rather than the lettering of the rules, and be prepared to break the rules on the rare occasion when they conflict with the goal of improving the wiki.

Discussion is an important part of Bleach Wiki. It is used to discuss any improvements to the articles. Discussion should be used before making major changes to articles, changing profile images, or moving a page.

Talk Page Conventions

There are conventions in any discussion, article discussion or not:

  • Signing - Users must sign their comments. This can be done by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of their post, or by clicking the signature button.
  • Use of appropriate language - Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Users must not abuse other users or attempt to silence their views. Treat other users civilly at all times.
  • New heading for new topic - Users should make a new heading for each new discussion topic.
  • Related to the article only - The article talk pages are only for discussing the contents and upkeep of the article itself. Please place all general comments and queries in the forums and blogs. Any such posts on the article talk pages will be removed.
  • Do not alter any post that is not your own, unless it is to remove abusive content or content that otherwise violates Bleach Wiki or Fandom policy.
  • Do not edit a closed discussion - Admins and Committee members may mark a discussion as closed with the {{Discussion Closed}} template. If you see the blue "Discussion Closed" box in a topic, then do not continue the discussion or remove the {{Discussion Closed}} template. If you wish it to be reopened, contact an admin stating clearly your reasons. It is at the discretion of the admin whether or not they reopen the discussion.

Users who see an unsigned comment may use Template:Unsigned to establish the identity of the poster of that particular comment. This does not, however, mean that you will not be rebuked for not signing posts.

Never delete talk page posts. Exceptions to this rule include the criteria on the talk page having nothing to do with the page content and posts containing extremely bad language or spoilers. Discussion pages that are too long (that is, they have many sections/separate discussions) should be archived, since older browsers cannot edit these longer pages properly.

Votes

When a vote is needed on an issue, it is held on the principal of one vote per user. Votes must be signed and should include a brief statement as to why you support/oppose the proposal. Neutral comments are also allowed. In the event of a tie, the outcome is decided by Admin vote to allow a speedy resolution.

Further guidelines may be set out on the respective page(s) of the vote and must be followed. Voting rule breakers will be given a warning, 3 warnings will result in a two week block of that user's account. This rises to 3 months for a second offence and may result in an indefinite blocking of the account.

Discord and "Discussions" Forum Rules

Bleach Wiki's Discussions Forum and Discord channel are places for all users to come and discuss Bleach/Burn the Witch. That said, certain rules must be followed to ensure a good time for all.

  • Be Nice - keep harsh language to a minimum. No swearing, no self censoring, just keep it clean. If somebody does not wish to engage with the discussion, be respectful and do not annoy them.
  • No Flaming - be polite at all times to users here, no condescension, hostility or insulting other users just because they disagree with your opinion. For example: "You're a fool for thinking that!", "You're clearly wrong!"
  • No Trolling - of any kind. Even if you feel a user has trolled, let the appropriate members of the team deal with it rather than respond in kind. Trolling is basically saying things you know will incite other members until they become annoyed. You are allowed to disagree, but do not deliberately bait others, as it is an indirect attack. For example: "People who like Bleach are insane!"
  • No Spamming - if a user has asked a question and they have received an answer, there is no need to make fun of them or spam the thread with things that contribute nothing to the discussion. If a discussion is over, let it lie unless you want to build upon the actual topic. Threads and posts that solicit upvotes will be deleted. For example: "So the anime is returning tonight! *Psyche*"
  • No Caps - Users should not be writing in all capital letters, otherwise called shouting. The occasional use for emphasis is alright but excessive use is not alright. You can use underling, bolding and italics instead.
  • No Roleplaying - an extension of our fan fiction rules. Users should not be using Discord or Discussions to roleplay. If they want to roleplay, they can go to the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki which is a more natural place for this.
  • No Repeatedly Cloned Threads - if you want to post a topic, then try to make an effort to see if a discussion was recently created about it, as your question may have been answered there and you can also build upon an existing discussion with your own insight.
  • No Reviving Dead Threads - threads that haven't had a reply in two months can be left alone and considered closed, and can be done so by the Administrators; there is no need to revive an ancient thread since many who have posted may not be around anymore.
