Battle of the Chimera: Gotei 13 vs. Ayon is a battle that takes place in the Fake Karakura Town. It involves the lieutenants of the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 10th Divisions, as well as the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13, facing off against Ayon.
Prologue
Rangiku Matsumoto and Momo Hinamori look on in shock as a monster forms from Apacci, Mila Rose, and Sung-Sun's left arms. Apacci states that the technique they just used is called Quimera Parca and that their "pet" is called Ayon. Rangiku looks at Ayon and notes to herself that it feels as if she's staring into a bottomless hole.[1]
Battle
Ayon strikes Hinamori as she tries to help Rangiku.
Hisagi and Kira save Momo.
Ayon immediately charges at Rangiku and she instinctively releases her Zanpakutō Haineko, but the monster is too quick for her as it tears through the right side of her abdomen. Apacci tells her opponents that she forget to warn them about Ayon's immense strength and Momo yells out to Rangiku.[2] As Rangiku drops to the ground, Momo grabs her and uses Bakudō # 37. Tsuriboshi which creates a star-shaped cushion of Spiritual Energy that connects to the buildings around them and stops their fall. Momo tells her that she's going to heal them and realizes that Rangiku can't breath because the area from her ribs to her intestines have been gouged away. Ayon goes up to Momo and as she unsheathes her Zanpakutō Ayon punches her in the stomach. She flies off in the distance and Momo thinks to herself that it's insane for both her and Rangiku to be defeated in a single blow. All of a sudden Izuru Kira uses Bakudō # 37. Tsuriboshi to save Momo while Shūhei Hisagi wraps Kazeshini around Ayon's neck. Hisagi and Kira tell Momo that they're going to take care of things now and Ayon examines Hisagi's Zanpakutō.[3]

Hisagi pulls the chain on his Zanpakutō back and Ayon begins to fall down while Kira uses Shunpo to move to Rangiku's location. He then takes her away to where Momo is and Apacci angrily yells at Ayon to stop him. Kira uses Bakudō # 73. Tozanshō which creates an inverted pyramid-shaped barrier around them. He tells Momo that he's going to heal her soon and realizes that she's badly injured, but decides to heal Rangiku first as Rangiku's injury is much worse.[6]

Hisagi decides to be cautious and assess his enemy by attacking from a distance and uses Hadō #11. Tsuzuri Raiden on the chain of his Zanpakutō which sends an electric current through it, shocking Ayon's neck. Ayon falls onto a building and Hisagi figures that Kidō must be its weakness. He then jumps into the air to attack, hovering over Ayon, but Ayon twists his head around to look at Hisagi and it swings its fist at him. Hisagi quickly uses Shunpo to get out of the way and Ayon gets back up while at the same time breaking the chains of Hisagi's Zanpakutō around its neck. As Hisagi notes that Ayon is a monster especially as it could have broken the chains anytime, Ayon appears directly in front of its enemy and grabs him. Ayon opens up his mouth, attempting to devour Hisagi, and Tetsuzaemon Iba jumps up from behind. Iba thinks to himself that he can win since Ayon hasn't noticed him yet, but a hidden eye appears under its mane and shoots a Cero at him. Hisagi yells out to him but Ayon slams Hisagi against a building. It then throws the defeated Hisagi away and goes up to where Kira is. As Kira begins to get worried, Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto appears and causes a large hole to form on Ayon's chest. Yamamoto states that the Gotei 13 lieutenants are shameful for forcing him to have to come out and fight.[7]

Kira apologizes to the Captain-Commander and Yamamoto tells him that will not do as if he has time to do that, then he should have time to focus on the enemy. Ayon begins slamming its hand on the newly formed hole it has in attempt to stop the blood and screams out in pain. Kira is shocked that Ayon's still alive and Yamamoto states that he'll have to give it another punishment.[8] Ayon increases the muscles in its right arm, making it nearly as big as itself. Ayon charges at Yamamoto and attacks him but he easily dodges the blow and mocks the monster for missing. Yamamoto then notes how pathetic it is for a creature to think of nothing but killing and he unsheathes his Zanpakutō. He uses Number One: Nadegiri and vertically cuts Ayon in half. However, the left half of Ayon continues to fight and Yamamoto tells it to give up since it pains him to continue cutting down a pathetic creature like itself. Ayon continues to go after him though, forcing Yamamoto to release his Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka, and he finishes off the monster by incinerating it.[9]

As Kira looks on, he is warned by Yamamoto that it isn't over yet and is told to strengthen his barrier. Sung-Sun, Mila Rose, and Apacci all go to attack Yamamoto at the same time and he commends them for fighting despite only having one arm. He then incinerates them as well and tells them that out of respect he will only give them a "light toasting." They then fall to the ground, defeated.[10]
