<p>I made this zanpakutō as a sort of tribute to Bleach now that it's ended. There's some thinly veiled references to other abilities and some more heavily veiled references to chapter names as well as some other characters abilities, both in the names of abilities and the abilities themselves. Welp, hope you guys like it </p><p>Hajime (初め <i>The Beginning</i>): The unreleased state of Hajime is an oversized but otherwise standard-looking katana. It has a rectangular silver tsuba with gently inward-curved edges, a stylized flame pattern on the long sides, and a simple decorative slit on the short sides. The hilt's handle has white wrapping and one light blue and one red tassel attached to the handle's base. </p><p>Shikai: Hajime’s release command is “die”. In it’s released state Hajime’s metallic components shine a dull light blue. </p> <dl><dd>Shikai Special Abilities: Hajime’s special abilities revolve around the manipulation of spiritual energy – and to a lesser extent reishi – to create a selection of varied effects. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Ichikara: Manten (一から:満天 <i>From Scratch: The Whole Sky</i>): By focusing energy along the blade of Hajime, the user can fire a multitude of solidified energy blades along the arc of the blade’s trajectory, creating a light blue crescent moon shaped torrent of blades to attack the enemy. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Ichikara: Hirensa (一から:非連鎖 <i>From Scratch: Unchained</i>): By adopting a stance where the user firmly grips Hajime with both hands and places the hilt squarely on the center of their chest, the user can charge the blade with an immense amount of spiritual energy and fire a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy at the target. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Ichikara: Hitotachi (一から: 一太刀 <i>From Scratch: Stroke of Sword</i>): By placing Hajime in front of the user with the blade’s point facing the ground, the user can erect a large light blue hexagonal barrier which can block most deadly attacks aimed at the user. </dd></dl><p>Bankai: Owari (終わり <i>The End</i>): Upon release the user is covered in a cloak of black reiatsu obscuring their form from head to toe, which after stabilizing is covered in an array of eyes. In this form the blade and all metallic components of the zanpakutô become pitch black. </p> <dl><dd>Bankai Special Ability: Owari has access to all of its shikai abilities as well as the ability to completely control the composition of reiatsu produced by the wielder. It also has a few abilities that analyze and predict the reiatsu of an opponent </dd></dl><dl><dd>Kyūkyoku: Senrigan (究極:千里眼 <i>Final: Foresight</i>): By utilizing one of the eyes formed on the user’s reiatsu cloak, the user can cause one of the eyes to “lock on” to an opponent and analyze their reiatsu and locate patterns in said reiatsu and therefore predicting when certain techniques are to be uses by the circulation of reiatsu. The eyes can only predict and send information to the user if they have seen the technique once before while locked on. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Kyūkyoku: Kaitai (究極:解体 <i>Final: Dissection</i>): A supplementary technique of the Bankai that allows the user to reconfigure their reiatsu to take on different properties in order to benefit from the change in attributes. For instance when dealing with Quincies one could change their reiastu to take on a Hollow’s essence to take advantage of the poisonous effect the hollow reiatsu has on Quincies. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Kyūkyoku: Hogen (究極:補弦 <i>Final: Chord</i>): The sole offensive technique of Owari. By utilizing the analysis from Senrigan and the ability to reconfigure the attributes of their reiatsu from Kaitai, the wielder makes physical contact with the enemy and transform a large chunk of their reiatsu to copy that of the wielder and then infiltrates this changed reiatsu into the opponents where it slowly changes back and destroys the opponents at a cellular level from the inside. This process takes longer depending on the strength of the opponents reiatsu and may require subsequent re-activation. </dd></dl>

<p>I'm not really knowledge-able about this particular topic, at least not enough to write about it. But something about Kubo's use of language and different languages per faction would be probably nice, to me at least. Was always very interesting to me that the 3 main "races" used completely different languages, and in my mind it solidified the differences between said races. </p>

<p>That's not a plot hole, that's an oversight. The manga never specifically stated Zanpakuto spirits can't have Zanpakuto. Still clarification on the matter would be nice, but I feel if a being can pour their reiatsu into an Asauchi then it's entirely plausible that they can have a Zanpakuto, and I think (not sure) Zanpakuto have their own reiatsu. </p>

<p>I think it's more than likely that only the Espada knew of the technique, and Ichigo figured it out after seeing Grimmjow did it but didn't have the requisite ability to use Cero until the reforging of Zangetsu. </p>

<p>That doesn't necessarily mean what I said is false. It's never mentioned how a soul becomes and Asauchi just that it does become one. Meaning there could be a container (i.e a physical blade) that the soul is placed into hence, trapped soul in sword. I'm not stating that as if it's fact though just a possibly, more than likely the soul is hammered into sword from or something *shrugs*.EDIT I mean the soul probably melds with the sword they are contained in to become a singular entity, but we literally have no idea, hence what I say is just a theory, but one that can't be easily disproven. </p><p>There's next to no information about how Nimaiya makes these souls Asauchi since we've only seen him make an Asauchi into a proper Zanpakuto, which isn't even a regular thing as that process is supposed to take time for the shinigami to imprint his soul onto the Asauchi. Also regardless of if shinigami were willing to be turned into Asauchi, there at one point had to of been someone who wasn't willing, as that fate is likely to not be accepted by many on what is essentially a hunch as Nimaiya logically can't have had any proof that his process would create something like an Asauchi, given that it's HIS invention. </p>

My favorite part is if Asauchi's are made from souls then that means Nimaiya was a psycho who decided to kill people to make swords/trapped souls of people into swords. God knows how he came to the conclusion that that would work out how it did.

<p>This is the translator I've been using http://classic.jisho.org/ it sometimes gives you the compound words. So like if you search say fire, you'd get names ranging from fire, to "dead fire" to "fire arrow" and etc. I know what you mean though about the compound names, took me forever to figure out how to do it myself and I've definitely still been wrong about a few. </p>

<p>Depends if he wants to name the sword in Japanese, if so I'd go for some kind of translation of whatever Durandal and Ascalon are supposed to mean (assuming the words have a meaning, otherwise "Holy/Divine Sword" = Shinken and to extend the name he can go with Shinkenmaru as that is a common suffix used for zanpakutō) otherwise if he's fine naming them in English then go for it, depends on if he wants to stay true to the Japanese naming scheme or not since that's important to some people when making zanpakutō. </p>

<p>Got bored, here's a basic Wind-type Zanpakuto that i've had bouncing around for awhile </p><p>Kita Kūchū (北空中 <i>North Sky</i>): The unreleased sate of Kita Kūchū is that of a short chokuto with no tsuba with a hilt wrapped in white cloth. </p><p>Shikai: Kita Kūchū’s release command is “Flutter” (翻る). In its released state the blade lengthens in size to that of a nodachi. A basic circular silver tsuba appears on the blade. </p> <dl><dd>Shikai Special Abilities: The abilities of Kita Kūchū deal with the manipulation of wind using the blade as a brush with which to “paint the wind”. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Bifū (微風 <i>Zephyr</i>): This most basic technique allows the wielder to send a blade of wind flying by simply cutting the air with Kita Kūchū. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Daikyōfū (大強風 <i>Strong Gale</i>): By gashing a horizontal cut below them, the wielder creates a large barrier of strong winds with which to block and disperse attacks. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Ryokufū (緑風 <i>Early Summer Breeze</i>): After unleashing a cut straight upwards a medium sized tornado is created in front of the wielder, trapping enemies in the tornado and damaging them. </dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Kyōfūchūihō (強風注意報 <i>Strong Wind Warning</i>): After trapping an enemy within the tornado created by Ryokufū, the wielder can then sheathe the blade in order to cause the tornado to implode onto any trapped opponents as a barrage of cutting wind. </dd></dl></dd></dl><p>
Bankai: Shin Hokuten Reifuku (真北天礼服 <i>True Northern Sky Regalia</i>): The wielder becomes covered in a white flowing longcoat with a four-layered golden sode along both arms and white cloths bandages covering the hands as gloves and five black drum’s with a white cover floating behind and above the back of the wielder arrayed in a crescent with golden tomoe drawn on them. The sword maintains it’s form from the shikai but with a detailed tomoe shaped golden tsuba. </p> <dl><dd>Bankai Special Ability: The Bankai drastically increases the power of the control over wind and air that the shikai has, to the point of granting <i>dominion</i> over the two. All techniques from the shikai are still usable, but are all significantly more powerful as well as new techniques unique to the bankai. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Amanomihashira (天の御柱 <i>Heavenly Pillar</i>): The wielder cuts downward creating a vertical pillar of compressed air in front of them that pushes down any caught in the area. </dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Mokushi (黙示 <i>Revelation</i>): The wielder can compress all the air from the Amanomihashira technique into a single small point and then fires it downwards as a bomb into the ground creating a large explosion of wind upon impact. </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd>Shinkū Haruhayate (真空春疾風 <i>Vacuum Spring Gale</i>) By quickly slashing in the north, south, west and east direction the wielder creates a barrier around him and his opponent in a 3 km radius. The barrier is not impenetrable but does damage those that try to move through it, the barrier is a 5 foot thick wall of wind that moves at 300 kmph in a circular motion around the barrier. In addition the inside of the dome-like barrier is affected as if the gravity in the area has been doubled due to the air pressure and oxygen levels are lowered, leaving combatants inside the dome to be exhausted much quicker whole fighting inside. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Tengukaze Kōhai (天狗風荒廃 <i>Sudden Gust Devastation</i>): After sheathing and unsheathing the blade in a lightning quick slash motion, a large shockwave of compressed cutting air is fired like a wall in the path of cutting motion of the blade, strong enough to push back most enemies with ease but not severe enough that the slash can’t be blocked. </dd></dl>

<p>Wow, this is an actually interesting theory. </p>

<p>Best in my opinion was definitely Hell Verse, it felt like it was the most well-polished and it explored Hell, which up to that point had no real lore for it. Also the bit about Hell giving it's residents just enough power to fight back but never to actually win against the Jailers was quite an interesting element. </p><p>Worst in my opinion was definitely Diamond Dust Rebellion. I just felt the plot was weak and the motivations and origin story for the main antagonist felt really contrived and parts were silly to me. Kyoraku being that easily bested by someone who only had access to their shikai? Really, he's one of the top captains and is now the Head Captain, even back then he shouldn't have gone down so easily. </p>

<p>NOTE: This is a repost of an older Zanpakutō of mine that I've slowly been re-editing and rather then edit the post I've decided to just repost it, sorry if that violates anything. </p><p>Sōjūmaru (双獣 <i>Twin Beasts</i>): The unreleased state of Sōjūmaru is that of a standard katana with a black hilt wrapped in red bandages and a golden hexagonal tsuba and pommel. </p> <dl><dd>Shikai: Sōjūmaru’s release command is “bare your fangs” (むき出す). In its released state Sōjūmaru’s blade becomes blood-red and the tsuba and pommel become bone white. The size and shape of the zanpakutō remain unchanged apart from the width of the blade which widens to 3 inches. 餓狼-神 </dd></dl><dl><dd>Shikai Special Abilities: The abilities of Sōjūmaru revolve around the powers of the Dragon King (竜王) and the Hungry Wolf (餓狼). The Dragon King creates and reigns over flames and the Hungry Wolf devours energy attacks to strengthen and compress the power of the Zanpakuto and the wielder. However the two beasts have an intense rivalry for one another and do not work together well, as such neither of the two techniques available in shikai can be applied at the same time. </dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Ryūō no Yoen (竜王の余炎 <i>Dragon King’s Burning Brand</i>): Sōjūmaru’s blade becomes covered by flames for as long as this ability is active. These flames enhance the damage of normal attacks and can also be launched from the blade in a wave of flame. The ability also gives the wielder to control nearby flames, however flames under the control of other beings (such as Shinigami, Hollow or Quincy) are very difficult to control. This “mode” cannot be used alongside Garō no Saiga. </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Garō no Saiga (餓狼の砕我 <i>Hungry Wolf's Crushing Fang</i>): This technique compresses the wielder's reiryoku around the blade of Sōjūmaru giving the blade the ability to eat energy-based attacks it comes in contact with. The blade then devours some of the energy and gives half to the wielder and half to sharpen and strengthen the Zanpakuto. This “mode” cannot be used alongside Ryūō no Yoen. </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd>Bankai: Zantetsuga no Sōjūmaru (斬鉄牙の双獣 <i>Iron-Rending Fang of the Twin Beasts</i>): The wielder is surrounded by a sphere of flames that make a sound similar to that of a wolf howling. The flames then disperse to show that the user has two large detailed silver sode on each shoulder, with the right shoulder plate having an outward facing design in the shape of a dragon's face and the left having that of a wolf's face. The armor continues down the arms encasing the hands in gauntlets and then granting the wielder a small chestplate. The sword itself appears as it does in shikai, except longer, nearing the length of a nōdachi. </dd></dl><dl><dd>Bankai Special Ability: The most basic ability of Zantetsuken no Sōjūmaru is forcing the two separate beasts to work fully alongside each other in order to gain access to more advanced techniques based around the unique abilities of the Zanpakutō. </dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Sōga no Sōjūmaru (双牙の双獣 <i>Twin Fang of the Twin Beasts</i>): This technique is a combination of the two original Shikai techniques Ryūō no Yoen and Garō no Saiga and is active throughout the duration of the Bankai. This technique creates and compresses flames around the blade of the zanpakutō, these flames devour the energy from energy based attacks it comes in contact with at a steady rate. The energy devoured is then used to increase the heat of the flames and to sharpen and strengthen the blade. Some of the energy stolen is also given to the wielder allowing them to extend the duration of their Bankai. These flames can also be launched from the blade, if they collide with an energy based attack they will devour and weaken the attack while powering up the flames, making it a somewhat useful defensive ability due to it offsetting the power of other attacks. The wielder also retains Ryūō no Yoen’s ability to control nearby flames, however flames under the control of other beings are still difficult to control. These technique is active upon release of the Bankai </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Seijū: Daihenkaku (聖獣:大変革 <i>Holy Beast: Cataclysm</i>): To use this technique the wielder must first charge an amount of spiritual energy into the blade of the zanpakutō, then by swinging the blade and connecting it with an enemy energy-based attack just before it collides, this technique instantly devours the entire attack instead of devouring only small portions at a comparatively slow rate. The amount of energy needed for this technique is equivalent to the energy contained in the incoming attack. The energy contained in the enemy attack is not devoured as usual and is instead nullified completely making this technique a defensive one. </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Reijū: Rengoku (霊獣:煉獄 <i>Sacred Beast: Purgatory</i>): Similar in principle to Seijū: Daihenkaku the user supercharges their zanpakutō to increase one of the aspects of its unique abilities. In this case it creates superheated white-blue flames that compresses around the blade of the zanpakutō. These flames can burn anything to cinders in a short amount of time, however this is a result of the flames eating through its target in addition to burning through it with hot flames. These flames can only be maintained by the user for a maximum of 1 minute and consumes quite a lot of spiritual energy to maintain for that short of time, as such the wielder is usually only able to use this ability 10 times per Bankai on average. </dd></dl></dd></dl><dl><dd><dl><dd>Onijū: Shōnetsujigoku (獣鬼: 焦熱地獄 <i>Demon Beast: Burning Hell</i>): This technique compresses and strengthen the flames surrounding the blade of the zanpakutō into a white and black blade of flame that is then unleashed as a short-lived crescent wave of flame. This incredibly destructive flame can kill any enemy it comes into contact with and like Baraggan Louisenbarn’s Respira is an absolute killing technique that even it’s wielder cannot overcome. This technique has quite a large drain on spiritual power and thus can on average only be used only a handful of times per day and generally only once per Bankai. </dd></dl></dd></dl>

<p>Except they did most likely check it, that edit improved nothing, nor better represented Yammy's personality, and in a few instances the grammar was off. A lot of the assumptions were just that assumptions, we don't know why Yammy is arrogant or has an inflated ego, just that he is, he could be naturally arrogant and it could have nothing to do with his position as Cero Espada, there's no facts that support either though, unfortunately. Sorry and I meant no offense but in this instance they were not wrong or conceited/lazy for changing the user's edit. </p>
